Toyoko Inn Kanda Akihabara

Really liked the staff, the breakfast and the location of the hotel, staff is very helpful and we had a subway station just 1 street away. The quick traditional breakfast they offer is very good, the tables can be a bit crowded though so best to plan to take it a bit earlier.

Bed comfort could be better and cleanliness can be improved a bit.

Clean room, nearby the station, full of amenities, nearby restaurants and shops.

The hotel was clean and tidy. Breakfast was relatively limited but good and well organized. Staff was friendly.

Very personal thing: the bed mattress was a bit too firm.

+ Overall, a good and clean hotel. + Location was excellent. + Staff was very helpful + The hotel is conveniently close to Bakurochō Station (about a 5-minute walk). + The washing machine and dryer on the ground floor were very convenient. + A readily available water dispenser was a great perk, especially during the hot summer weather.

- The check-in system was very inefficient and not at all customer-friendly. It operates as a “do-it-yourself” system, but since it didn’t work properly and repeatedly displayed error messages, I constantly had to ask the reception clerk for assistance. If this is the case, wouldn’t it be more customer-centric to have reception staff handle check-in manually from the start instead of inconveniencing guests with cumbersome administrative tasks? - Additionally, the staff did not speak English at all, which made communication challenging at times. - The breakfast experience was disappointing. There was very little variety, and the bread was not replenished promptly. - During breakfast, all the tables were occupied. While this might not be an issue for solo travelers, it was inconvenient for me and my family. - The hotel bed was quite uncomfortable. The springs felt like they poked out when you rolled or moved, and the bed made a lot of noise with any movement. - The room was a bit too small, especially since there wasn’t enough space to comfortably accommodate two pieces of luggage.
