This was the perfect getaway

The Green Home is a hidden jewel, perfect for a quiet getaway. It’s inviting, comfortable, immaculately clean, and well appointed. The surroundings are peaceful and the staff very attentive and helpful. There is a small attached restaurant that serves excellent food.

Comfortable night's stay in an historic house and village.

A guesthouse and restaurant in a house about 100 years old. A light and comfortable room with views over the garden. We brought an evening meal of bread, cheese and wine and ate it in a shared guests' dining room. It was a short walk to the interesting and historic village. Our bicycles were safely stored overnight in a locked garage. We enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant.

Perfect 2 night stopover after a 2 week road trip.

Arthur and Meng are obviously dedicated to creating a perfect place in one of the prettiest villages in this region of France. They, and their staff, are passionate about Green Home and what it offers. It was a wonderful place to finish off our French road trip. A lovely location, peaceful gardens and lots of things to see or visit in the locale. The European / Asian fusion foods in the restaurant can’t be faulted and plenty of opportunity to just chill out and relax after.. Thoroughly recommend a visit and will return ourselves..

A friendly welcome and attentive care. We couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommended.

The property is delightful, clean and very well equipped. Our room was very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. It was very convenient to have the option of an evening meal on site and we also enjoyed the breakfast that was included. We found it very relaxing and peaceful to sit on the balcony overlooking the gardens. Our visit to the local chateau was very interesting with spectacular views and this was just a few minutes walk into town.

There was absolutely nothing that we didn’t like.

It's difficult to find the words to explain how welcoming we found the hosts. Their be art deco house and grounds are amazing.. Communication is great. They can't do enough for you. The village and surroundings are beautiful. Book with confidence. We will return.

The house was simply beautiful and our room was lovely and very comfortable. We loved the huge shady garden and the kitchen space downstairs where we could make tea or coffee and hang out. The hostess was so kind, friendly and helpful - we absolutely loved staying here!

Restful, lovely, friendly

We loved Green Home. We had seen from reviews that tea and coffee facilities were in the shared living area so knew to expect that. We used the microwave in the living area to cook jacket potatoes for our dinner as we were on a budget but clear information was provided about which of the six restaurants and cafes in the village were open when. (As well as the microwave, tea & coffee facilities, there is a fridge, sink, cutlery and crockery.) We were able to store our bikes in a locked garage and given the code go retrieve them when we wanted. The gardens are beautiful with many different places to sit. Hosts were lovely and very helpful. Room and en-suite bathroom were clean, fresh and comfortable. We would have happily stayed longer than one night.

Nothing! There was no boulangerie open in the village, but that is hardly their responsibility!

… couldn’t wait to move on

Dripping taps in bathroom kept me up all night … if I hadn’t emptied the small bucket collecting the water, it would have flooded from bathroom into the bedroom area! Also, my mattresses had completely collapsed in the middle and very uncomfortable

House was generally shabby and needs refurbisment. (photos are deceiving)

The location was good.

The mattress did not fit the bed frame, it was lower than the sides, and had a 150 mm gap between it and the sides, making getting in and out difficult, The sink drain was blocked and took an age to empty. There was no plug for the bath. There was no where on the wall to put the shower head, so the only option was to hold it by hand, unfortunatly we dont have 3 of them! Carpet badly stained. Ref Top floor, Room at Rear

Nice even with no sleep

friendly people, lovely home, nice location

the beds are very small. bascially unsuitable if youre 1.87 like me. besides two bats flying around in our room, which was fun and not bothering us when they left after 15 minutes, it was hard to sleep in such a small bed. ohh and a quarter of a roll of tissue is not all that convenient. lucky we brought some ourselves.

Pretty town to have a brief stopover

The guest house was done out in a kind of retro style which I enjoyed. I also liked that there was a secure garage in which cyclists could leave their bikes. There was lounge/dining area.

Although there was an area to bring in food, equipped with a microwave and tea/coffee-making facilities there were no utensils whatsoever - no plates, cups (apart from plastic cups), cutlery, not even a teaspoon to stir your drink! I think that considering that the village has just one restaurant, one boulangerie and no grocers store I think that the place would do well to provide breakfast, or at least more facilities so that we could eat food that we can bring into the guest house.

Green Home is a really special home and we would love to return for a longer stay in La Roche-Guyon. It was a perfect stopover for our family biking holiday London - Paris. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The decor was beautifully done and the rooms were really comfortable.
