Papillon, Southwold - A Modern Flat with Balcony

Good location

The balcony area was unusable as it was dirty with seagull droppings. The roof it was on was thick with dried seagull poo. The windows and window ledges were also covered. 2 adult gulls were raising 2 baby gulls on the flat roof and were exceptionally noisy day and night. If they saw you they begged for food. The pictures for the property show plastic grass on the roof. This is the problem. It has traps debris rather than enabling anything to be washed away naturally. It has provided the gulls with a perfect home. We had to buy ear plugs in order to get any sleep. It was hot at night as you couldn’t open the windows due to the noise. Also there were no instructions as to how to use the TV. No tea towels and under the bed was thick with dust

The property was in a good location for the town and beach. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and the shower had good pressure.

The kitchen/seating area was pretty small and we couldn’t use the balcony because there were seagull chicks with anxious parents there. This is obviously outside the control of the owners and not a criticism of them, just a statement of fact.

The small balcony needed a steam clean the chairs although we didn't use them it would be tight with two people and the table on the balcony, the chairs were slightly Rusty
