Mare Gaia Apartments

Perfect location set back slightly so very peaceful. Dimitris was an exceptional host, nothing was too much trouble for him and replied to any messages really quickly.

Could’ve had a few more kitchen accessories.

Location, above old port on a hill. Nice walk down past tavernas. Be aware lots of steps. Lounge was very spacious and comfortable. No air conditioning in the lounge. Large superking bed in the bedroom with good quality bedding. There was very little space between the bottom of the bed and the wall. Nice quality towels. Room regularily serviced. Clean towels and T.towels. Any small issues we had in the apartment the caretaker was there immediatly to help and resolve. We could not fault him He met us late at night and sorted out storage for our luggage on the last day.

The courtyard was shared with the cleaner. She had an outside area were she laundered towels etc for other hotels. As a result the drying area was full of towel etc. She would come at all times which was very intrusive when we were sat relaxing. The apartment smelled from the poor drains in the bathroom. Apparantly this is a problem generally in Skiathos. If we had realised we wouldnt have privacy in the courtyard we definatly would not have booked this apartment.

The location was perfect! The apartment had everything we needed.

The location of the apartment is fantastic. It is literally just minutes away from dozens of great bars, restaurants, etc. that are in the center of Skiathos town. The host Dimi is really lovely and she always answered our questions/concerns immediately via WhatsApp.

While the apartment has a great location, it was lacking in many ways. This review is in regard to apartment #1 on the ground floor. The jacuzzi is only available for the people renting the penthouse apartment and not the other apartments in the building. This should have been made more clear in the property description. The kitchen area smelled like raw sewage. The bathroom had a weird layout and the sink was small, making things like washing hands, face, etc. messy, and most importantly, the WiFi wasn't working properly for the majority of our stay and the data coverage in the apartment was terrible. This ended up becoming a huge issue as it became difficult to keep in contact with loved ones back home whenever we were in the apartment. Considering that it costs around €180/night to rent this apartment, we were definitely expecting better quality than what was delivered.
