Modern Beach & Town Getaway

This vacation home is ideal for medium-sized family or small group. We were two couples + an adult in town for an event, each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen has just about every kitchen tool you could imagine, and the common spaces are comfortable. What stands out to me is the responsiveness of the property manager. The cutting boards were in horrible condition (unusable), and the knives were dull (not unexpected with vacation rentals). I contacted the property manager, and the next morning (<12 hrs later) they offered to come over to sharpen the knives. A few hours after that, they dropped off brand-new cutting boards and even a new knife block. The location can't be beat, just a block or two from Main Street shops. There is a guest limit of six at any one time, but it worked very well for our group.

Kitchen has LOTS of tools (and All Clad cookware) but it's lacking basic items like foil, more than 2 servings of coffee, olive oil. The checkout instructions are minimal (maybe a good thing?). Not sure if they have recycling. Would have been great to have a box of tissues/Kleenex. It wasn't clear how to lock the front door from the inside at night. Instructions on how to lock the door when leaving the home were inaccurate - only need to press the Schlage button, as the deadbolt locks were not complete or functional. Not sure how to engage the plug to use the bathtub (to take a bath) in the master bathroom.

Beautiful, clean, well located - close to town. They had a binder of recommendations, a little welcome bag of local snacks, and the owners (some kind of vacation rental company) were quick to respond and communicate, and were very helpful! Plenty of bedrooms and space - we had a 2 and a 5 year old with us. They had everything you need to make meals at home, plenty of towels for guests to shower, and even a set of beach towels we could use! Instructions on arrival and checkout were very clear and straightforward.

Only downside was feeling a bit rushed - checkout was 10, but cleaners arrived before then and waited for us to get out. We were mostly packed out but were trying to get everyone to use the bathroom one last time before the 6-hour drive, the bathroom didn’t lock, and the cleaners were trying to enter the house. I travel extensively and have never felt this pressured to get out of anywhere before the checkout time, so heads up to get out by 9:45 if you want to avoid this!
