Unique historic yet beautifully updated studio, a gem

Stefan came to pick me up from the airport with his red Vespa. Awesome service and a beautiful sunset ride at the bike of his scooter. His wife Barbara welcomed me in their 800 years old studio built on top of an ancient cistern. It’s nothing short of unique and special. They have turned this antique historical site into a very comfortable studio, authentic Greek decorations yet with modern utilities like aircon, minibar, stove, led candles and nice Greek laced fabrics

The hosts were friendly and responded to texts and tried to help. Very good location and nice traditional decoration.

The place looked very nice and traditional originally, but it wasn't comfortable in some ways. The toilet flush wasn't working during our stay which was a huge problem, and there was no privacy to the bathroom, only a curtain. There were cockroaches in the room as well, which made us leave earlier than we had planned as that was terrible to live with.

Exquisite little hideout in a prime location

Excellent location, couldn’t be any more central yet it’s quiet. The room is sweet, well decorated and clearly set up to show off how ancient the building is. Bed was comfy, everything clean. Excellent value for money. Barbara and her partner are wonderful, so friendly and warm. We went to their nearby bar for a drink and had the lovelies chats. Paros is incredible, loved our stay.

There’s no aircon so imagine it can get very hot, but the fan was fine for us. Toilet/shower not very private as curtained off, but no issue for us as a couple been together for years.

Stefan and Barbara were wonderful! We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay immensely! The space was clean and very thoughtfully decorated. We were greeted with wine, water, and fruit. There were even chocolates on the pillows and firewood for us to make a fire (and we did). In the morning they brought us a fresh baguette to our door for breakfast!

We have very little to complain about. We did run out of hot water quickly, and the night was a little chilly, but we were otherwise very comfortable.

Stunning!

This was an incredible stay! Lovely hosts who met us at the door and showed us around the old and historic room. Delicious fresh bread was dropped at our door each morning to enjoy with the assortment of complimentary jams - a fantastic way to start the day! Very conveniently located, comfortable bed and a lovely ambient fire was an amazing addition to the rustic room. Could not recommend this stay more to couples or even a solo traveler to relax and unwind on this small island paradise.

I needed to phone the owner to meet at the property to get the keys. This was straightforward. It took me a little while to locate the place, but once I found it I realised it was quite obvious if I had paid closer attention (essentially next to the footpath crossing at the top of the stairs from the harbour front. Plus the house number and name are above the door). I was kindly given an early check-in. It was good for a short break. In winter it was possible to park overnight in the harbour but I understand this is not possible in summer. The apartment was nicely arranged, good selection of teas and a fireplace for cooking (in addition to the electric hob). I was traveling alone, but if you are traveling as a couple it’s best if you know each other well. Understandably there is not much noise insulation between the toilet and the room not much privacy between the shower and the room. Not a problem if you know each other well though :) Overall a nice place and I would be happy to stay again.

It is a nice little place. I visited during the winter and found the temperature inside manageable but I did occasionally use the electric heater. My only tip I give to others is to bring some slippers as the floor can get cold on bare and sock-covered feet.

La bohème

For our first stay in the Cyclades we chose Paros...What a good choice we made!! I came across Villa Romantica by chance...we were looking for an original and above all a very romantic place. When Stefan opened the door of Villa Romantica we were immediately amazed, this place is very warm, we feel immediately so good, a very comfortable bed, a hammock, full of practical equipments, a beautiful decoration with lots of small original details. Barbara had left a basket full of delicious fruits... all the ingredients for an unforgettable stay...an idyll for a stay between lovers in the heart of the picturesque village of Parikia and its small typical houses of the Cyclades, white walls and small streets. The shopping streets and the majority of the best restaurants and bars are less than 5 minutes walking. Stefan and Barbara have been of a incredible kindness, we had the chance to share unforgettable moments, especially at the charismatic Minas's excellent small family restaurant that's playing the best traditional greek music. My only regret is that I did not book longer. This little jewel is undoubtedly the best place where we stayed in our trip, next time we will stay there at least a week. Superb

Years ago I was on that island and amazed by the structure of a building there and photos of it. Now by fluke I was staying in the front of the mega old castle itself and the room was part of that structure!!! Barbara and Stephan are a beautiful couple, I would so much like more time with them. Their decor in the cottage was perfect for me, location! Location!!! I’m coming back!

Pleasantly surprised and had a great stay

Such a cute property. Stayed for a couple of nights and had everything I needed in the place: pots, pans little pots of spreads. Amazing location, near the port and lots of restaurants and shops around. Very scenic location. Hammock was a great bonus! Hosts were also very nice and greeted me upon arrival.

Shower pressure was not great and only had cold water but was only here for 2 nights so didn’t mind too much.

Villa Romantica is so beautiful and super good location.

The location and the kindness and easy communication with the landlors, with they the check in and check up was super easy. We could check in early. We had fruit, jam, butter, tea and coffee for the breakfast and they also offered me to bring bread in the morning. They changed the bed to be more comfortable. Wifi works great.

The bathroom is small and the shower is tricky. We couldn't have hot water. The basin toilet may not work sometimes. There is only a fan no air acondicionair.

The hosts were very welcoming showing us around Villa Romantica. We wish we stayed longer so we could have spent more time with them and seeing Paros as it was beautiful. The place is a traditional Greek house in a great location! Very cool! Hope we can come back one day from Australia!

such a bad experience!

Unluckily we couldn’t enjoy at all our vacation at villa romantica. During the night we found COCKROACHES on our bed. Moreover there was a relly bad smell in the house, which only had one little window in what we can barely call “bathroom”. The owner tried to blame us saying that maybe we brought cockroaches from another island in our luggage and it was so infamous and offensive. He also told us that he would cancel our stay (we booked for 2 nights but after the first we immediately left) and that we would have a refound for the second night but nothing of this happened. He only paid back our ferry tickets to leave earlier the island. Last, the bed hadn’t sheet and we had to ask for it.

Great find in Paros' heart?

Great attention to detail. Fruit in the bowl, coffees, tea bags, UJF milk, wood for the fire - even a spare phone/tablet charger! Water in the fridge. Very close to the centre. Extraordinary amount of extras; picnic hamper, fishing rods, antiques, etc. Nothing amiss. Candles, matches, lighter. All in one room.

Not like, but not for those who can not walk upstairs. Outside & neighbors' & passers-by noise may disturb, tho not me.

Très bon emplacement mais très nombreuses marches à gravir. Les équipements ne correspondent pas au descriptif. WC juste masqué par un voilage, coin douche sans aucune intimité, kitchenette succincte (seulement une plaque de cuisson), coin rangement trop exigu, pas d'armoire (juste une malle accrochée au mur, accessible en rampant sur le lit), draps (trop petits) non adaptés au format du lit, télévision non installée, barbecue en figuration, pas de vue ( pas de fenêtre)....

Un voyage extraordinaire

C'est un logement hors du temps ... on serait transportés 200 ans en arrière (sauf qu'on a l'eau courante et les toilettes). La literie est exceptionnelle. Par contre, il faut être intime avec votre conjoint car tout se fait dans la même pièce, il n y a pas de porte. L'emplacement est idéal : près du port, de la vieille ville et des restau. Barbara est de bon conseil sur les restau à découvrir et son bar qui permet de profiter de couchers de soleil extraordinaires.

Schöne außergewöhnliche Unterkunft, mitten in Parikia. Sehr ruhig und super gemütlich. Tolle Lage zum Essen gehen, einkaufen, Sonnenuntergang anschauen und zur Fähre. Gemütliches Bett.
