Evelyn Cottage

Had one parking permit from the host, so we could park the car in the car park with out worrying..Yes there are steps to walk up to the cottage , which kept us fit, may be not suitable, for the weak elderly or disabled. How ever its a perfect position for the town, with out any noise

The garden needs a good tidy up which is a shame because it has so much potential. Cottage was very clean and had a nice welcome pack from the host. The cottagd was recently painted on the out side, just needs a few touches here and there inside.But overall reasonably priced and comfortable. Has some nice views over looking the boats on the river from the bedroom and bathroom.

Specifications on website said a double and 2 singles but there was only one single and an unpleasant z bed which was not suitable for an adult. Could have been cleaner, kitchen floor needed a wash and work surface dirty. Venetian blinds needed a clean as very dusty and bits on the carpets. Otherwise lovely, bathroom and bedrooms nice and clean. Garden a mess, no lawn just weeds and stones.

Such a lovely cottage. Waking up to the view of the cliffs and boats...stunning! Kitchen was well equipped. We loved it.

I'm not sure if we missed it in the description, but we didnt realise there is a steep staircase up to the cottage. We managed fine but our food delivery was almost cancelled as they couldn't access the cottage.

Great central location - aware of access by steps which wasn't a problem for us. Cottage basic but clean & comfortable.

This property is NOT SUITABLE FOR 4 ADULTS which is what we booked for. There is a z bed & single bed in bedroom but no room to put it up and no bedding provided! Thankfully one son was unable to make the trip last minute, otherwise it would have been disastrous. Also should have been made aware of road closures for regatta which made leaving day very difficult with luggage. Reported the issues and have never had any response from the owner or cottages.com who let the property - very disappointing.
