Holmfield

Lovely house. Quite spacious and comfortable. The location is great for walks from the doorstep and also to walk into Buxton. The local pub is lovely and accepts dogs.

A dishwasher and freezer would be a welcome addition. Our main problem with Holmfield was not the house but booking.com and the owner's booking policy. We found it on booking .com and cottages.com and the prices were very similar. I decided to go with booking,com as I have used them many times. A day or so after making and paying for the booking I received an email asking me to pay an extra £30 for my dog. I had assumed that this was included as it was included in the cottages.com booking. I was told that the listing stated that there may be charges for the dog. They stated that it was the policy of the property owner to add them after. They also said that I should contact them on any property that has this possible additional charge and they would check for me. Not what you want from an online booking system. So we ended up £30 out of pocket. I suggest that you book with cottages.com

Lovely little house over 3 floors. Perfect for a weekend stay. Well equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. Close to the amenities of Buxton.
