Great location for the area I wanted to visit and had everything we needed

Basic breakfast provisions provided.

Very good links to A1M for Durham, Sundeland and Westside coast. Nice and quiet location, adequate accommodation facilities, off street parking to rear of property and public footpaths to walk dog with playing field close by. Very welcoming host with lovely touch of breakfast groceries and biscuits provided for stay including milk, butter and selection of preserves in fridge as well as a loaf of Hovis in cupboard. Bedrooms very comfortable and spacious with plenty of storage. Kitchen compact but functional. Excellent that it is dog friendly and very much appreciated. Sparse local amenities : Indian takeaway, corner shop and Durham 61 (was Hallgarth Manor Hotel) billed as four star boutique hotel with fine dining and accommodation but didn't get chance to visit this time. All within a few minutes walk. Better facilities in nearby Sherburn Village and Gilesgate on outskirts of Durham City. We would stay here again.

Things that could be improved: Bathroom - Toilet loose on fittings and water needs time to run to get hot. Construction quite flimsy also. Area where microwave is under sloping eave, daughter banged her head on it. TV has Freeview channels but sometimes signal lost and sound not the best.

Great price, terrific communication, really helpful and friendly owners, flat very clean, well equipped and furnished, comfortable... location excellent.
