Warm, welcoming and considerate staff. Just lovely staying at Charlton. I hope we will return one day.

Comfortable and convenient for beach & forest walks. Nice to have farm on hand for evening walks. Delicious strawberries too!

We had nice weather. If it had been wet/ raining, the entrance to the cottage would have become wet and dirty quite quickly (we have dogs). Some washable rugs or floor towels (we had our own) would have been needed. That’s meant as a suggestion to win 10/10 review, and is not a criticism in any way. Our stay could not have been better!

Great short break

Kids got to play in the farm park after it had closed to the public. The accomodation had plenty of space for all of us. We walked to a beautiful quiet beach in about 20mins. Hot tub was lovely.

This was our home base for adventures along the east coast of Scotland. It was perfect for journeying out to Dunnatar Castle, Aberdeen, Glamis Castle, St. Cyrus Beach ( be sure to go to the Old Bakery Cafe!!!), all the sites in Montrose and a quick stop at Aldi’s for food and snacks. We stayed in Laundry Cottage ( 3 adults and 2 children) and we had two beds left over; very spacious and kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfy and shower pressure was good. Two bathrooms was an extra bonus. Really fantastic playground for the kids and great breakfast at their little cafe. Our private hot tub was awesome on those chilly fall nights! we were there for five days and I could have stayed longer, might be busier during the summer but fall was perfect, quiet and private. LOVED IT! .

More firewood would have been nice; we only had a few branches and I found one small log. There is a washing machine but a dryer would be a real plus. We made due using the drying rack that was provided. Taking into account the season, the age of the house and the remote location, this is really to be expected but we did have some really BIG spiders crawling around upstairs; my daughter had one in her suitcase! So a word of advice, just keep your suitcase closed when not using it!

Perfect mini weekend break

The location was perfect as you were only a short drive away from the tourist hotspots of Montrose or in case you had to go to the shops. The cottage, despite being in the middle of the farm, was hidden away and at no point was it ever too noisy or lacked in privacy. The cottage was the best place to stay for a mini weekend - especially when the hot tub was available to use!

The only slight downside was the high amount cobwebs in all the rooms, especially the main bedroom. However, this was only a tiny inconvenience considering the rest of the cottage and farm was exceptional!

loved the hot tub it was amazing, and the property was walking distance to a lovely beach & forest walks for the dog. bed also very comfy :)

it maybe wasn’t as private outside as we had thought, just with staff walking back n forward in the garden all day while in hot tub or sitting outside however apart from that it was all fantastic

Property location was perfect, kids loved the park right next door and the hot tub was lovely. House was huge and had a log burner which was nice in the evening.

It was a really good stay and lots of facilities to use however make sure you take all your cleaning and food items as there is not much surplus.

Absolutely loved pur stay at Charleton Fruit Farm. Hosts are so friendly and open to chats and working any queries we had. They are working hard to increase the experience but what's in place already is fantastic. Lovely cafe/restaurant a farm/gift shops. Cottage #2 is small but 2 bedrooms and excellently finished. Hottub is an added bonus - even in the rain. Will def be back when the fruit is in season for picking.

Didn't have any much in the way of cleaning products for us to use - not that there was much expectation for us to ensure the place was sparkling when we left, and there was a LIDL 2mins away for us to stock up. Another couple set of cutlery would be good.
