Good place for a short period of time

The hotel is in the centre, super near of everything. Breakfast was really nice, the owner was super attentive and good quality of the food. He also let us leave the backpack before check in and offered to do it also after check out. The room has a fridge and iron and a hairdryer so that’s a plus!

We had a problem in the shower the water was leaking but he fixed it, although the pressure of the water was still poor and the shower curtain needs to be change. Also, the carpet wasn’t vacuum enough.

Lovely Hostel

Location is perfect. Open areas are very beautiful. The unfortunate odors are typical of all facilities in this area, and room size is also typical.

Excellent location. Very good breakfast We could check in very late and there was luggage storage the next day.

The room was really small, but we only stayed for 1 night, so it turned out to be ok. The restaurant looks and feels a bit old/antique, but this is the style of the house. It was clean. Narrow staircase to go up if you have bigger luggage, but the owner helped.

At no point during the booking process did I see any info or pictures about how incredibly tiny this little shoebox was going to be. If you’re claustrophobic then definitely steer clear, it’s more like a sleeping capsule. There was also no proper blinds so it was very light from 4:45 am… no toilet paper or soap upon arrival. Soap was never replenished.. bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Yes it was on the cheaper side (60 euro p/n) but I saw other people paying that price and getting a normal sized room (rather than a broom closet). More transparency during the booking process is necessary here.

Overall, the stay was stressful and disappointing due to poor communication and unprofessional conduct.

The owner I dealt with was extremely rude. It was nearly impossible to get in touch with him regarding a late check-in, and when I finally did, I wasn’t greeted with a simple hello—instead, I was met with, “You’re late.” To make matters worse, I was charged twice for the room, and he is now refusing to issue a refund.

Less than 10 mins walk from the Rivera. The place is bordering the historic castle and just stepping out the hotel, one can see the castle. The room is small, but it is good value for the money. The owner is very nice and helpful.

Atmospheric Split

The hostess was very kind and helpful. They arranged earlier breakfasts for us as we were out on tours. The location was amazing. Literally inside the old palace walls and you leave the hotel right into the small alleyways.

The apartment layout was strange in that the first floor was dominated by a jacuzzi tub. The shower was also there in the open. So this is suitable for partners/couples. The washroom is very small.

A unique place to stay.

About a 15-minute walk from the central bus station, and a stone's throw from the historic Diocletian's Palace lies the Hotel Paradiso. We booked last-minute(ish) and what a find the place was... the Hotel Paradiso has the air of slightly faded Hollywood glamour about it, but don't let that put you off - it is part of its slightly dusty (and unusual) appeal. The staff were friendly and helpful when we checked in, and remained so for the entire duration of our stay. With an enormous jacuzzi dominating the 'living room', which also came complete with a bidet, two sinks and a shower, and a bed area above it with a glass floored mezzanine-type thing, you could not fail to be anything but amused/amazed/incredulous. The property has its own private entrance and was in a perfect spot (next door to a fantastic heavy metal pub) for exploring the historic palace. The streets are always buzzing and many of the restaurants and eateries in the area appear to have just 'grown' out of the walls. A hearty breakfast of fruit, yoghurt, pudding, bread, a boiled egg and rocket fuel that masqueraded as coffee was laid out each morning in a dining room that you half-expected either Bette Davis or Joan Crawford to appear in and pick their way through the frankly enormous glassware collection and gilt-leafed crockery sets really set you up for the day. I would happily recommend a stay at the Hotel Paradiso for its locale, its staff, its 'shabby chic' interior, and its absolutely bonkers amenities (who doesn't want a jacuzzi in their lounge?!).

I'd have liked some plastic glasses too as I was worried about breaking the lovely glasses.

We were super rushed at our arrival to the point of being uncomfortable. Lobby area incredibly dark, not easy to navigate. Communication was not correct about breakfast, so some issues there.

If you are planning to travel to Split, you are right, the city is beautiful but run away from this hotel. My friend and I had booked a month before we came. We saw that the check in was between 2 and 3 pm but we asked if it was possible to come between 8 and 9 pm because we are doing a road trip in Croatia and we try to enjoy each city to the maximum. Having never had an answer we came for 14:30 (and yes we did not want to sleep outside...) And the disasters begin... We arrive in front of the hotel with our suitcases when a lady goes out. We try to enter but she blocks us and tells us that she is the manager and that it is not possible that we have a room here because she sold the last one. I answer her nicely that we had already made the reservation and that I have the confirmation. But she doesn't want to know anything. She only repeats to us that no we did not book, that it is an error of booking. I tell her "ok if it's a mistake but call the operator or help us". Still nothing we have no reservation according to her and she comes back and slams the door in our face. My friend and I are shocked, especially since she never asked us for our name or reservation number. We started to call booking to know what to do and she came out and attacked us: "it's not worth calling Booking, I don't have a room for you, you should have booked, go see elsewhere there are much better and cheaper rooms". That's what we should have done! But I told her that we had made a reservation and that she only had to show me her reservations. We went in and the first reservation on her computer was mine... Of course, if she had asked for the name!

Then the room was horrible: - False advertising, we had booked a large room with jacuzzi according to the photos posted on booking and we arrived in a very small room without jaccuzzu. False advertising is prohibited by the European Union. -Tiny room we walk on it no place to leave his suitcase open. - 17 degrees in the room on arrival. Was it to make you sick or to hide the smell of mold and humidity? And yes ladies and gentlemen, it smelled musty. - Mold on the ceiling of the room with white paint to try to hide it. - Peeling paint on shower ceiling. - Shower curtain formerly white, now yellow/brown from mold and shower very small. It was horrible, we were afraid that the curtain would touch us while taking the shower. - The disgusting toilet brush covered in the feces of previous guests. - The electric plugs coming out of the walls, very dangerous risk of electrocution. - Towel dryer that will soon fall, the pegs are coming out of the wall. - Drinks and yogurt in the refrigerator (I specify anyway, refrigerator suspended from the ceiling above the sink of the bathroom / WC) at our arrival, surely previous customers so the refrigerator is not emptied between each customer ... Very hygienic especially in this time of Covid-19...

The price was incl. breakfast (starting at 9), but I had to leave very early, there was nobody there at that time. However, they arranged a nice breakfast the evening before, incl. hard boiled egg and fresh fruits (figs!)- everything what could be made an evening before. I really appreciated that!

Not as expected.

It has great location close to everything. The room was cleaned everyday, even though i had to throw out a cockroach and then left light on for all time to have them not come around :P The hosts was very kind and prepared breakfast.

Wasnt really what i thought, it would be, i had read and expected a large place with lots of guests and i was pretty much alone there in this 4 rooms in total hotel. The pictures of the place dont really matches and the original room that i was to have was a small closet with no windows, but since the place was empty i was upgraded to other better room slightly bigger, with a window. breakfast hours was way later than what i prefer to be able to head out for tours early, but it stood there clearly, just hadnt read it, so that was my miss. I had thought that there would be a training area and a SPA usable for guests but that was nowhere to be found. I booked it to be at a place to meet also other tourists, and it was instead completely deserted. As stay for this long, i wouldent recommend it for anyone. One-two days, yes, but still overpriced even for that. Bread was fresh on day one. Other days, not so much. There is a fridge. In the bathroom 2 meters up. with a door that cant be fully opened. For real.

Loved my stay in Split!

Location is perfect! Inside the Diocletian Palace, right in the middle of everything, but rooms are very quiet. Only 5-7 minutes walk from the airport bus or ferries. Everything you need is just around the corner - restaurants, live music, market, historic sights. Breakfast area is charming, and every room (I think there are 4 of them) is assigned it's own table. Boiled eggs, yogurts, coffee, jam, bread, juice, and plenty of local fruit! Air conditioning was so much appreciated in the summer heat. The hosts are very welcoming. They provide you with all the needed information (and a smile). At the end of my stay Michel presented me with a gift of ornamental plaque - Paradiso's Sun - to keep sweet memories of Split. Thank you, Michel!

The single room is tiny! It worked fine for me, since I am a small person, but if you can - book a bigger one. All I needed was a bed for the night and a shower, which were there. But if you have a big suitcase with you, or you are on a heavier side - consider upgrading to a bigger one.

El desayuno correcto y la hubicacion perfecta. El anfitrión nos regaló una botella de vino, bonito detalle.

Lo habíamos visto por fotos, pero uno no se hace a la idea, está distribuido en 3 plantas y se comunican por una escalera de caracol, dejamos la maleta en la primera planta y cerrada, porque no había mucho espacio. Parecía un museo.
