The Makadi Spa Hotel - Couples Only 18 Years Plus

This is probably one of the most beautiful hotel / resort I stay in. At daylight hotel looks beautiful and there are so many nice walking trails and place is so beautiful. But at night is just gorgeous and light and all trails are everything is just so beautiful. Stuff and reception and all people who work there are polite. Asia restaurant in makadi spa had one of most tasty desserts there. It was very positive experience

Some shop there should be more polite. Is just ruined experience there.

The hotel is located in the Makadi Bay, and because of this they got a marvelous coral reef where we could swim all day and explore the local wild life, and this was way better than the guided tour we booked. The food selection is vast, everybody can find their taste of food, they got different sort of restuarants for instance Asian, Middle Eastern, Italian, Spanish etc, but there are Buffet restaurants also (important note if you wish to have a dinner in one of this thematic restaurant you have to make a reservation in advance). The alcoholic beverages were tasty and great, we had tried some of the cocktails, beer and wine, all of them were great. The staff is friendly, helpful and were always ready in case we had questions or needed assistance with something. We also asked for the shuttle ride between the Hotel and Airport, for two us it costed 2x30 EUR (two way price) and was great, I'd advise fellow travellers to take this option to avoid a possible taxi scam in Egypt. Also would like to express our gratitude to Hanna who was there to help us navigate in this grand complex and was always kind to us. Also important to add that around the hotel there are several other smaller shops in case you require something to make your stay comfortable or you have run out of something that you needed like suntan lotion or medicines. The place was amazing and we have decided to return next year again. Thank you again!

Cannot say there was anything that we did not like, everything was great!

I loved the all the personal touches that this hotel offered. From room upgrades to personal butlers, to a different towel design each day in the room, to servers remembering your drinks order and bringing it without asking, it was nothing short of spectacular. Every single staff member was so friendly and willing to go above and beyond for you. The facilities were incredible, so clean and well looked after. The pool area is just beautiful and looms out over the sea. Such a variety of restaurants as well so you can never get bored! Activities and tours can all be booked in lobby by travel agent which was very handy. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Many staff members across different departments were friendly, welcoming and did their best to help. The staff in the restaurants and bars in particular deserve recognition for their kindness and hard work despite appearing exhausted and under considerable pressure. The head butler regularly asked how our stay was going, which we appreciated.

Our stay fell short of what we expected from a five-star hotel. The swimming pool floor had broken tiles, which was both disappointing and a safety concern. This is basic maintenance that guests should be able to take for granted at a hotel of this standard. Orders took a long time at some restaurants and bars, and staffing seemed insufficient. We appreciated the employees’ efforts, but the service suffered. The hotel needs to give its staff enough support to meet guests’ expectations. The lady in guest relations came across as rude and arrogant when speaking to other guests, which left us feeling intimidated and uncomfortable raising our own concerns during our stay. Both of us became ill despite taking the precautions recommended to foreign travellers, including avoiding ice and raw fruit and vegetables, and brushing our teeth with bottled water. One of us remained ill for several days after returning home, requiring six visits to doctors and a series of medical examinations within the first week after our return. The hardworking staff’s efforts could not make up for the maintenance issues, service delays and unapproachable guest relations. These areas need meaningful improvement to deliver the five-star experience the hotel advertises.
