This view is nothing short of magical. The room and bathroom were very spacious and very clean. The shared living room, outdoor dining, and indoor dining have INCREDIBLE views!

The house is very clean and cozy, and the view is absolutely top-notch. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. We were warmly welcomed with drinks and a lovely chat in the living room, right in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the magnificent Douro River.
Coincidentally, it was the Moon Festival during our stay, and we told the owner about our tradition of having a BBQ with friends and family back home. That evening, we enjoyed a wonderful BBQ dinner together — the food was exceptional, and of course, so were the wines!
The next morning, the owner prepared a gorgeous breakfast for us as well. After check-out, one of our tires unfortunately broke on the way to town. We called the owner for help, and he calmly told us to park the car by the road, go ahead with our river cruise, and that he would wait for us at a café afterward. It was about a 30-minute drive for him, and he was so generous to help us.
He spent several more hours assisting us — removing the broken tire, driving us to another town to replace it, and then bringing us back to reinstall it. Honestly, what could have been a stressful incident turned into one of the most remarkable moments of our trip.
When traveling, it’s not just about the sights, food, or attractions — it’s also about the people you meet along the way. If you’re looking for not only a beautiful place to stay but also genuine connection and friendship, this is a place I highly recommend.

Fantastic views, comfortable beds and great breakfast. Marten made good recommendations for local restaurants and activities. Fun to pick his brain about winemaking.

The accommodation is somewhat secluded on a vineyard and offers a truly sensational view of the Douro Valley. It is simply furnished and clean, nothing distracts from the fantastic view through the panoramic window. The garden in front of the house also invites you to linger.
Regardless of the apartment, we would only recommend a stay in the beautiful Douro Valley for a maximum of 2 nights, as we really struggled to discover anything new from the 3rd day onwards.
For us as a family with 2 small children (2 and 6 years old), the apartment declared as a "family room“ had 2 serious disadvantages:
1. despite curtains, it was not possible to darken the room sufficiently, which meant we were woken up by the light of the early rising sun at 6am at the latest
2. the apartment was so noisy that even the neighbors' normal conversations were completely audible
Unfortunately, these two disadvantages spoiled our entire stay as a family, right from the start! After a 4-hour journey in sweltering heat, our children were so agitated that they could hardly be kept quiet. And when they woke up much too early in the first morning due to the sunlight, at least the younger of the two daughters cried and screamed a lot, which didn't bother our very nice room neighbors so much, but led our landlord to make an emotionally completely exaggerated announcement. His statement „The children's screaming is not acceptable, he doesn't want this and it has to stop!!!" confused us a lot, he could have formulated it in a friendlier and certainly more appropriate way. We then advised him not to declare this apartment as a family room, or at least to indicate that small children are not really in good hands there.
