Nice place, but bring your own soap/shampoo.

Nice place to stay within walking distance to restaurants. Room was very nice. Shared bathroom was clean and convenient.

There is no soap or shampoo. I messaged the property and the response was "we only offer hand soap as hair and body products are too risky". Very strange. I had to take hand soap from the sink to use as shampoo and soap. The review would be much better if they had simply provided shower gel or the like.

Too unpersonal for us, although the facilities were okay

The room size and we could use the kitchen

We were all alone in an enormous house. The host said he was not home at our time of arrival, but we would meet later. Never saw or heard from him again. There was an enormous garden which was pitch dark, not one light. We had to use the light from our telephone to find our way. Very very unwelcoming. When you enter the house it felt very cold, just not welcoming. It looked okay, but it did not feel warm, cosy and as said, welcoming.

Self catering, I kept fresh items in a small bag in the fridge in case other residents “borrowed” them. Tea and coffee were available (bring your own milk). Large, well equipped kitchen/diner with a good sized dining table. Room was spacious, and very comfortable. Close to town centre but with a pleasant “rural” location. The host was out of town for a few days, but kept in touch via email to make sure everything was OK.

Well equipped bathroom but shared: one of my fellow guests took residence in there for a considerable time each morning - I got up early to use the facilities before he took over! I believe there is a plan to provide additional facilities to make this less likely to happen.

Be.autiful place to stay

Des the owner was so helpful and nice. The place has been done up so nice. Our room was very clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. The shared kitchen was clean and tidy and well stocked. The shared bathroom was big and very clean. The internet worked well. Plenty of room to park your car. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful accommodation, location and owner

Fantastic property. Felt like Lord and Lady of the manor. Des the owner had complimented the rooms with beautiful furniture. Des was extremely helpful giving us ideas to eat out and places to visit. All in all a fantastic stay, fantastic bathroom and power shower and full kitchen facilities. Could have stayed longer. Thank you.

Only thing was the stairs outside to the 1st floor, we have mobility problems but we overcame them.

Nice House

A nice place we had the whole floor to ourselves.

No one to meet us there. Let ourselves in and it was very cold in our room, no heating had been put on prior to us coming. We didn't see anyone the whole time we were there.

First Time in Wick

Although Catriona couldn't be there, she kept in touch and made sure I was well looked after. The whole property was exceptionally clean and the facilities were excellent. Everything you could possibly need to cook your own meals and wash/dry/iron your clothes. It's located in a good spot where it's not far from the centre but far enough away that you can't hear the hustle and bustle in the town. It's about a 10-20 minute walk from the major attractions like the distillery and the museum. If you enjoy walking, the starting points for the north head, south head/old Wick castle and the Wick river walks are very close by. These offer a great view of Wick and the surrounding area. A longer walk up to Castle Sinclair Giringoe and the Noss Head lighthouse is also highly recommended on a nice day (you can drive up as well if it's not so nice).
