Beyond Expectations 🙏

This accommodation is a HOME 🥰 Sue & Russell have catered beyond any needs or expectations. We have travelled from Australia with our elderly mother 3 times and stayed at the Ambers, without a doubt thos is the MOST amazing unconditional place to stay ❤️ As Hosts they take it to the next level. As for breakfast there is nothing or no one the Ambers does not cater for , I am coeliac and I've never had options on hand like this..This is the place to stay and feel like 🏡 home. Thank you Sue & Russell See you soon✨️

Perfect stay and home for our needs.

The breakfast was outstanding. The garden is amazing. You really need to see it to believe it. The way sue has decorated the house is just beautiful. Everything you could think of has been thought of. I would describe the house as extremely homely relaxing and interesting. Thank you Sue for your thoughtfulness. And generosity Elizabeth and family.

Book this house - You will love it!

This house is amazing!! There was only the two of us staying in the three bedroom house so obviously there was more room than we needed. A family would love it here. If you are looking at any cabins in the area that might look a bit cheaper, stop, and book this one. It really is very, very good value for money. We spent two weeks on the north island of NZ with a mix of B&Bs, cabins, a motel and this was the highlight of our accommodation experience. It is just beautiful!

If I had to say anything, it would only be that I don't personally like air fresheners of any variety so I have to collect them and put them outside while I'm staying anywhere. (That's not much to complain about😅).

The Amber's is in a great location. Not far to town, and coast right there. Really quiet! Beautiful selections for breakfast to appeal to all tastes! The decor for the house is absolutely amazing!! Beautiful! Plus, everything you could possibly need is provided.

Stunning property which is even better in person

Above and beyond expectations. A very rare find where the property looked more impressive in-person than in the photos! We’ve been travelling in Aotearoa for a few weeks and this has been by far the best accommodation we’ve had. Everything you could possibly need facilities-wise was there, in a large house, set in a beautiful and immaculate garden. The house was also cleaned spotless. The breakfast spread was exceptional. Cereals, bread, condiments, yoghurts, with plant-based and dairy options too. We had a car so the location is absolutely ideal for exploring the Coromandel Peninsula and other nearby sites like Karangahake Gorge and the shorebird centre. Just brilliant. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you!

A MUST STAY BOOK NOW

This property was absolutely 💯 perfect in every way, the owners who live next door so very kind. Concerned as we arrived late with our elderly mother and turned heaters / lights on for our arrival after long a long international travel. Very private amazing gardens and facilities. Every one MUST stay here, we didn't want to leave. OMG the breakfast, caters for all dietary requirements. I was sending pics to all our family members at home even did a video. This is a home that cares for the environment, I nearly cried with excitement when I saw recycled hand made washable make up wipes. We are going to travel back just to say at the Ambers Thank you Sue

Quiet, peaceful and lovely house to stay in Thames.

Excellent place to stay in Thames: great unit; 3 bedrooms, lovely living room and kitchen with all amenities needed for a longer stay. Lovely owners who stay next door. Quiet and peaceful, lots of privacy. Enough food in the cupboard to make some great breakfasts. Great shower. Spotless clean. Nice deck while not providing sea view still amazing view over the mountains and a quiet residential area. Excellent place to stay for group of friends or family to recharge from busy work or the busy city life. Would definitely stay here again

Awesome stay at a very nice and cute place.

This is such a gorgeous home. Every room has its own theme and the decorations are just lovely. The breakfast that was available to us was aweome. Toast, croissants, 3 different jams, yoghurt, frozen berries, some other cereals, plunger coffee, sachet coffees, hot chocolate, tea, milk, what more could we ask for! We had such a great stay! Thank you.

The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay a very enjoyable one. The house was located in a peaceful neighbourhood. It was warm, homely and beautifully decorated, and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic with several extra treats included and a gluten free request was kindly accommodated.

This property is absolutely beautiful. How it has been decorated and the little home comforts provided are exceptional. It is kiwiana meets the hamptons, love love loved the beauty and care put into this property.

I think it is more what my hosts didn't like, I didn't realise my kids weren't allowed - so sorry! However I think the hosts were gracious and allowed my kids to stay and them catch up with friends from Thames - big apologies on my part. My boys and I are currently going through my 23 year old son having a car crash and a traumatic brain injury, We found him after missing for 40 hours. I apologise that I didn't get kids weren't allowed and I really appreciate you let us stay. Thank you and so sorry - I would say amazing hosts

Perfect Thames getaway

A beautiful home, well equipped with everything you'd need, and beautifully decorated. We made good use of the nice large covered deck and outside furniture, and the beds and pillows were lovely and comfortable. The garden's lovely too, and lots of little touches made it a special place to stay, while still feeling warm and inviting. The hosts were friendly, while not the least bit invasive and the breakfast and other things provided were outstanding. Totally recommend and be happy to return . Waterfront is only a few minutes walk away, and the home is on a nice quiet street, and it was a perfectly peaceful place to be. We had a lovely time with 3 generations of adults together for the weekend.
