Great as always

This is the third time that we come here and every time it is simply wonderful. Katrina and Paulo are the best hosts - welcoming and caring, ready to go above and beyond to make sure their guests feel at home. Spacious rooms, spotlessly clean bathrooms, breakfast with fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden, not to mention wine and olive oil produced right there - its a paradise on earth. We will definitely come back again

Paulo, Katrina and Francesca are the most hospitable hosts! Fantastic breakfast, beautiful rustic rooms in a lovely home that has been in the family for 100years. I stayed for 5 days and many people who came were returning guests. It's not hard to see why. Thank you for a restful stay where one feels welcomed in a peaceful environment xxx

A great location

Pablo was a friendly, helpful host. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location of the accommodation was quiet and perfect for exploring Lucca. The breakfast was delicious. We appreciated the recommendations for local restaurants.

Unfortunately, there is limited sound proofing between the rooms.

Relaxing stay with kind hospitality, thank you.

Sant Alessio is beautiful and just a short (45 minute walk) to Lucca. We walked there almost everyday as we like to be active - taxi's were quite pricey for a 5/10 minute drive too (around 20 euros). Breakfast was lovely and plentiful - bread, oil, jam, chocolate spread, eggs, cake, fruit and cereals available too. Coffee strong and delicious! Hosts were warm and welcoming. Catarina recommended some good local patisseries to try in Lucca and surrounding areas. We tried the local pizzeria, Keplero (15 mins walk from b&b) - highly recommend. Be wary that most restaurants close on a Monday so if you are staying in Sant Alessio on this day, you may need to head over to Lucca to eat (we did!).

Everything was great. I would say that if you are comfortable hiring a car and are staying at the b&b for more than 2 or 3 nights, this could be a good option for exploring as there is only so much you can do/see on foot.

Absolutely great

Everything was perfect. You can feel the love with which the owners lead their hotel in every little detail. The breakfast was absolutely amazing with only fresh products. The surroundings are super nice. We could rent two of their bikes for free. (They only have three, we didn't have any problem with that because none of the other guests seemed to want to use bikes at the same time). Great recommendations for dinner. Cute cats. Very tranquil. Perfect :)

The hotel owners are very kind, friendly, and helpful. The room and the bed were very comfortable and clean, and breakfast was great! The place is in a quiet area in nature, and it is 40 minutes by walking to centre, and 5 minutes with a car or taxi. Absolutely recommend.

The property is set in an idyllic location, just around 5 minutes by car from the beautiful town of Lucca, but far away enough to feel disconnected from the busy city life and be surrounded by the calm nature. Paolo and Caterina are marvelous hosts, treating guests as if they were their own family. The rooms are kept in an excellent state of cleanliness, while the breakfast is delicious offering typical Tuscan food, with the majority of the food coming directly from the farm. The wine and oil produced on the farm are of excellent quality. On site parking makes it much easier for guests as one does not have to worry about his vehicle. Exceptional value for money.

Perfect stay in outstanding podere!

Very attractive podere near Lucca. Hosts are dedicated to make you feel at home from the moment you check in. We had a wine tasting with 3 different wines from their own vinyards; recommended. Breakfast is fantastic with plenty to choose from; try the home made jams! Spotless clean rooms with fans that keep you cool during the night.

Very good

This is very nice, old farm rebuilt to accomodate the family as well as their guests. It is walking distance to Lucca, where you can take a train to Florence, Pisa and other destinations. It is only 30 min to Forte dei Marmi, huge beach on the west coast. And it is up to one hour driving distance to the Apunian Alps, where you can find amazing trails. So, the location of this place is great. The hospitability of the older couple that runs this house is also very nice, they give you nice breakfast, you can taste their local wine and oil. The garden is beautiful and it has furniture to sit outside. The interior has beautiful old fassion sense, there are a lot of pictures you can learn history about.

Unfortunately, as we were both taller couple, the bed was quite small. The worst part of the stay was what comes with all villages. There are roosters right under the room windows, so when you consider falling asleap late when it gets finally a little more chilly and waking up at 5 a.m. every day with the animals, it is not something I would call tranquill.🙂 Yet, it belongs to this houselhold, so people have to take it into the consideration.

Comfy retreat in a quiet Tuscan farmhouse among the vines.

Super location in the Tuscan countryside, directly among the winery and fruit trees. Friendly and accomodating staff, lovely cats on the property and great recommendation for an impressive "Fiorentina" steak dinner at a nearby restaurant. They also arranged gluten free options for breakfast on a short notice, which was very well received.

The place is an absolute vision - magnificent rustic Interior with Italian Tuscan style decorations and gorgeous countryside surroundings. We loved our bedroom and adjacent bathroom - both were very spacious and equipped with everything one needs to feel at home. Furniture was beautifully arranged and every corner swept. Rooms are cleaned daily and the service is nothing like the industrial, impersonal approach in hotels. The owners tend meticulously to every little detail, greet guests with a smile and send them off with helpful tips and recommendations. The house is within walking distance from Lucca (a stunning Tuscan town) and serves as an excellent base for visiting larger cities such as Florence, Pisa and even Siena. What we loved most about our stay, however, was conversing with the incredibly sweet and gracious hosts - Paulo and Katarina (sincere apologies if I misspelled their names). They create a welcoming environment and treat every guest with respect and kindness as if they were family members. Never have we encountered such helpful and service minded business owners who go above and beyond to ensure the well being and comfort of their guests. The breakfast they serve is heavenly - ingredients are locally sourced and organic, food quality superb. I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruits that the couple grows themselves and the scrumptious cakes Katarina bakes each morning. Their surrounding vineyards add to the warmth and cosiness of the place. We even got to taste the wine which is a 100% organic, low-sulfite and delicious. A must for everyone who suffers splitting headaches after a glass of store-bought wine. We purchased a few bottles and wish we had taken more. We stayed there 4 nights and have throughly enjoyed every second of it! Would warmly recommend to anyone searching for a place to stay in Tuscany!

The place is really beautiful and the people are very very kind! We really enjoyed the pieceful area and we could borrow bikes to go to Lucca, which is only a few kilometres away. The breakfast is amazing with good coffee, sweets and bread with egg.

Posizione, tranquillità, servizi e pulizia. Caterina e Paolo sono gli host eccezionali dell’Agriturismo Al Podere di Rosa: sempre disponibili, gentili e attenti, ci hanno fatto trascorrere le nostre vacanze in totale tranquillità. L'agriturismo si trova in una posizione privilegiata, nel verde e nel silenzio nonostante sia a pochi passi dalla città di Lucca, e dispone anche di prodotti enogastronomici sia locali che prodotti direttamente presso la struttura (davvero buone le colazioni). Ottimo come base per esplorare il parco della Garfagnana, Pisa e il mare della bassa Versilia (e perché no, anche Pontedera per gli appassionati in pellegrinaggio al museo Piaggio), torniamo a casa con tantissimi e bellissimi ricordi. Proviamo già un po' di nostalgia, ma sappiamo che questo è solo un arrivederci!

Il letto matrimoniale era composto da due materassi separati, e non so per quale motivo, ogni volta che mi giravo sembrava dovessi essere buttata fuori dal letto.... Forse le doghe non erano messe bene... Non so... Ma per il resto tutto eccellente

Sehr empfehlenswert und einfach unvergesslich schön

Es ist ein bezaubernder Ort um sich zu erholen. Der Aufenthalt war wunderschön und hat unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen und wir können diese Unterkunft von Herzen weiterempfehlen. Ebenfalls wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen und das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wie kommen sehr gerne wieder.
