The rooms are rather dated with carpets and old furniture. The bed was too high for me. Otherwise it was alright for standard English bed and breakfast accommodation. The lady host was very kind to allow me to have breakfast late since I had an errand very early in the morning in the centre of Stockport. Breakfast was good with freshly made eggs.
Also the are was very quiet for a peaceful night. I only stayed one night but apparently it is near the Peak District and some wonderful walking trails.
There was a bit of a mixup with the payment. I assumed the room was already paid via booking.com. Instead of talking with me civilly about this, the gentleman owner who is the son of the lady host shouted at me as soon as I walked through the door that; "you need to pay for the room! You did not pay my mum last night". Some respect would have been nice as I would not have run away without paying. It was a genuine error on my part; however, a little respect would have gone a long way.

This kind of guest house should be cherished because you feel like you are staying in someone's home...far more welcoming than the national chains...oh, and the breakfast was superb.

We found the guest house to be excellent value, clean and very comfortable
We received a warm welcome on arrival, the room was ready on our arrival which was a little before check in time and the room we were given on the top floor offered excellent views of the countryside and beyond.
We will definitely be back next time we are in the area
