A bit pricy, especially the breakfast

Great place for a short stay in a busy, vibrant area close to the river, plenty of bars and restaurants and an easy taxi or tram ride into the main part of the city. The room was cosy with good facilities and a very comfy bed. Had a slight issue with first room but the staff were excellent at sorting it out and moved to a different room without fuss. Can't be helped and all was sorted quickly and efficiently. No complaints.

I didn’t stay long as I was just crashing after a concert down the road at the Palladium and then left early the next morning for a flight home (I was probably there for a total of about 7 hours, of which I was asleep for 6 of them). They made it easy to drop my bags at reception before the concert as check in wasn’t open yet - although they did give me the option to check in early for an extra fee as they had rooms ready. The room was smart, clean and tidy, and comfortable. Obviously, I wasn’t there for very long, but the bed was comfortable (although the queen was actually 2 twins pushed together, which I don’t mind, with 2 single duvets rather than 1 double/queen, but I was so tired I didn’t care that much!), the bathroom and shower were good with plenty of towels for one person. I wasn’t there to use anything else in the room/hotel so can’t really comment on it. Check out was really easy and the receptionist gave me a drink to take with me to the airport which I really appreciated as I didn’t have a chance to stop for anything on the way! The train station is a 10-15 minute walk, Düsseldorf airport is then about 30 mins on the train. The Palladium is about 15 mins walk and there are restaurants on the way.

They had very few staff when I arrived back from the concert (which was about 11pm to be fair) so there was nobody at the front desk for about 5/10 minutes and I could only see one member of bar staff who was too busy tending to customers at the busy bar so I didn’t want to bother him! It really was just a minor thing, but I’d had a very long day, it was late after a concert and I knew I had to get up again at 5am to get to the airport. The hotel seems to be on a fairly busy street so it was quite noisy at night but I am a sensitive sleeper and am not used to city noise being from a country village! Overall, these were very minor things and the positives outweigh the very minor negatives!

The two rooms we got, were clean. Beds were comfortable. WIFI was good

There was no tea/coffee in the rooms and no kettle. I got a kettle from the reception. However, this was of no use By the time we reached the hotel, all shops had closed. I missed my coffee that night after driving from Zurich for almost 7 hours. The two rooms we got were on different floors. Due to security, the key of one floor does not permit you to go to the other floors. Me and my wife were in one room. Our children were in other room. We had no idea how our children were during the night or if they needed anything. It was like we spent a night in a jail with restricted access.
