The property is in an excellent location, very quirky and interesting. We loved it.

Quiet and fire place

There was no cold water feed in shower and wash basin taps in bath room and kitchen are loose.

We loved our stay at this charming country property. lt's in the most stunning and peaceful setting, with places to sit outside and enjoy the views and extraordinary gardens with plants more usually found in Cornwall (due to the micro climate here). It's both away from the busy tourist areas and yet easily accessible by foot (10-15 mins walk into Staithes and the Cleveland Way) or car. The inside does not disappoint. Converted from the former cafe, the large vaulted ceiling of the spacious main room has the wow factor as well as being comfortably and stylishly decorated (English country house/baronial?). There's a modern fuel stove for the winter months. It was really clean and well equipped with crockery etc. and also a good tv with bbc channels (perfect for watching this years' Euros matches with friends!) as well as access to streaming channels. We found the bedroom spacious, the bed super comfy, and plenty of hot water. To top it all there's a great cafe along with an antiques shop next door. We couldn't have been happier on our first trip to this amazing part of the country, and look forward to returning here again.

Comfortable beds and characterful property

It is a very dark property with only a few windows. The Living / dining room had one enormous banqueting table completely out of proportion for the two bedroom property. There was no TV remote control and when we pointed it out to the owner he just said there was nothing he could do. The outside ‘garden area’ had breeze block walls and concrete floor with a few mismatched flower pots with mostly weeds. At the back the shared courtyard garden has been left to fall apart. The view from the living room window was of a fallen down wall, a rusted table and chair and huge overgrown shrub blocking badly needed light. One completely dead house plant completed the picture of neglect.
