The Martlet Inn

Good food nice room

The superior suite was so lovely. Loved having a separate lounge with kitchen area and nice big bedroom. So roomy and comfortable. Lots of lovely touches like hand cream, a pack of cards and biscuits. Pub itself is great, in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast was delicious.

We weren't aware when we booked that the pub was doing oktoberfest on the night we were there. Chose this particular pub as it was rural and in a quiet area and we loved the pub food menu, we wanted to have a much needed quiet night away from it all with some nice pub grub and some drinks. The normal menu wasn't available and there was a very limited menu which we wouldn't have chosen. Live music playing most of the night, which to be fair we enjoyed, but there was still lots of noise at gone midnight which we could hear clearly from.our room. I think this event should have been mentioned when we booked, as we wouldn't have stayed here had we realised.

Lovely village, the food, both dinner and breakfast were excellent Staff friendly Good location for exploring the area

The decor in the Monument Suite needs attention, the bathroom needs a complete revamp Very noisy until restaurant closes, you can hear the extractor which is really loud and everyone taking downstairs but very quiet overnight

A good choice of breakfast. Full English. Also available a continental breakfast with cheeses and ham. Tea, coffee or fruit juices to drink.
