Very spacious
My room was above the kitchen so food smells did drift up

The suite was lovely and clean and very spacious, made up of two rooms. The living room has a little kitchenette and dining table w large TV on the wall. The bedroom has its own TV and en-suite bathroom w good sized bath.
The staff were always friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was excellent value too. We also ate at the restaurant the night of our stay. Wow. It really was the perfect balance of a beautifully presented plate while still being a decent portion size. I would not hesitate to go back and can definitely recommend the place. Theres also some lovely woodland walks just up the road.
The cupboard next to the dining table houses the boiler (?) It makes this sound every 10min or so thats quite unsettling when youre sitting at the table. Couldnt hear it from the bedroom though.

Clean and comfortable room, lovely wide bed and nice little touches, soap and shower gel etc which are always appreciated. Smashing cooked breakfast beautifully done. Best coffee for ages. Kate was lovely and very helpful. Thanks Kate
The cark park was very busy early on (always the sign of a good pub) so wasn't easy to find a spot, but we did manage to squeeze in. Everyone wàs very good natured and helpful, so that made it easier.

Bed linen and towels were snowy white.
The bed and pillows very comfortable.
Breakfast had a very good choice, help yourself to cereal, toast, fruit, croissants and fruit juice, then a cooked breakfast with coffee and tea which came in a proper large tea pot.
If we happen to be travelling in the area again we would be more than happy to stay again.

My mother and I attended a family event nearby, therefore the location was ideal. The room was large and very spacious and clean, with tea and coffee making facilities which was great after such a long drive from the Midlands. We both had a very comfortable night’s sleep. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of small or large full English, continental, cereals, toast etc. we would certainly stay again in the future.
There wasn’t anything we did not like, however this is a very rural location so one cannot expect services that are readily available in a large town or city, eg Uber/ Taxis at the drop of a hat but as I drove to this location it was easy to drive to our family event which had plenty of parking. On our return back to the Martlett, which was very busy as it was a Saturday night, we had a couple of drinks before retiring to bed.

Amazing family suite and fantastic hospitality and food. Was perfect for our lads cycling stop.
Nothing.

Breakfast was nice, although the room it was served in was cold, I should have worn a coat.
The lounge/ kitchen area in the room was ok
We didn't like the extractor fan noise from the kitchen. This did stop at 2230, only to be replaced with another mechanical noise that lasted all night.
Also all the outside lights are left on and the curtains are insufficient to make the room dark.

Nice cosy bar area.
Friendly staff.
The place has just changed hands and the new owner was trying her best to sort the place. I think she is going to do well.. She has a friendly manner and has lots of plans.

We liked the size of our room with kitchen and separate bedroom.
The pub downstairs was being renovated so we were staying on a building site. It was noisy with the air conditioning unit . We never had our rooms serviced for a 3 night stay.

Breakfast?!!! We didn't have it. A cooked breakfast was not offered at the location on the first morning of our stay, a fact I was only emailed about after the full amount has been charged to my card. Chef's days off are Monday and Tuesday apparently. We were told to drive to a sister hotel 4 miles away if we wanted a cooked breakfast. The second morning... We had left by then!!
Everything. We left after 1 night, despite paying on full for 2. We emailed The Martlet Inn this morning with our complaints about the dreadful beds, the noisy extractor fan or whatever it was directly outside the window, the issues with breakfast, the fact that furniture was removed from our room when we were out... The list goes on and on.

Ideal large family room with separate bedroom.
We had a lovely evening meal and everything was very relaxed. Exactly as described and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if I was in the area.

The breakfast was great. Lovely food , good choice well presented.
Very friendly and hospitable staff.
Because of the hot weather, the availability of a fan in the bedroom would have been very helpful

He breakfast was great as was the food in the evenings.
Very happy overall and will probably stay there again.
The only thing I can think of that could have been better was the fact that there was some quiet loud talking going on fairly nearby but it is a village pub so not too worried as the other nights were fine.

Very comfortable, staff all very friendly and welcoming, nice garden to sit in and drink the excellent wine. Advertises itself as "dog-friendly" and we were very happy to see some lovely dogs too! Excellent coffee at breakfast!
The only thing I would mention that the (excellent) breakfast seemed to have everything exactly counted out (e.g. three pats of butter for two people, eight slices of bread by the toaster when there ten people having breakfast.....) but I'm sure we'd have been able to get more if we had asked!

Great service and a nice breakfast.
The bed frame is metal and very squeaky along with a had mattress. If you are used to a hard mattress, it would be fine as long as you stay still.

The bed frames and mattresses were of contrasting quality. Some bed frames squeaked and 2 mattresses were lumpy with springs protruding.

the staff were delightful, the food in the restaurant was excellent. I was not expecting much for the room, but it was very good indeed with separate area for fridge/kettle, bathroom and bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay

Staff friendly, helpful, welcoming. Beautiful location and a lovely pub historic pub. Accommodation was tasteful and we were fortunate to have a huge room overlooking the Beautiful countryside and beer garden.
Comfortable bed, hot shower and bath. Nice touches with local tea, coffee and milk provided.
2 large smart tvs with Netflix etc!
We've left a couple of novels to start a read and swap!
Nothing of significance. If being really picky, just lacking a couple of things likea couple of sharp knives, a chopping board and a blanket.
