Great location to break up the trip from Plymouth to York. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food. Very spacious room.
Car park was very hard to find, but the landlord explained how to get there very well. The bed wasn't very comfy, but it was 30 degrees.....tight steep stairs.

Breakfast, comfy beds and the pub vibe. Very dog friendly. Good pub grub. Friendly staff.
Family room too too hot during the heat wave as top of building. Some road noise being on the high street.

An authentic, old English pub with hotel facilities. Basic furnishings, somewhat run down - the mattresses on the single beds could do with being replaced.
The English breakfast was good. The pub food was ok, hot and fulsome.
David, the landlord, was very friendly and helpful.
The car park is at the back of the pub. Take care when going to your car because you unfortunately have to avoid the dog droppings.
