Beautiful barn conversion in a quiet location not far from Morpeth, owners were very good and communication with them was excellent.
Overall the property was very good but in our opinion it needed cleaning more, we did our best to ensure it was clean and tidy when we left.

The kitchen was lovely.
Dog hairs in bed. Won't book dog friendly accommodation again. On requesting clean sheets & changing the duvet & pillows were stained. Beds had not been hoovered under in a while.
Wood burner not safe to light (from people who are landlords). Accommodation was cold with not being able to light log burner, had to amend heating ourselves.

Very dog friendly and has an incredible paddock where you can run your dogs in a safe secure compound. Location was perfect for our requirements and I think it would be incredible for swerving fireworks night with horses being on site. The kitchen and living space works so well for a family catch up with space for parking outside. Warm and cosy with comfortable beds we loved our stay. Thank you
We loved everything no complaints

Location was amazing.
Nothing.

Very dirty, dishwasher does not work, frayed carpets a trip hazard. Only had 6 dining room chairs for 10 people. Unless 4 people to a room it cannot sleep 10.

Beautiful location. Fully equipped kitchen . Plenty of space for the kids to play. Kids fell in love with the beautiful horse and carrots were provided to feed him in the mornings. Didn't want to leave.
Plenty of wasps, but you expect that in the countryside.

Outdoor space was good. Loads of space to sit and chill. The property had some wood for the fire and left a nice touch with a bottle of wine on arrival. Decent size field for activities although the field isn't really well maintained. Pot holes all over and uneven which could easily cause injuries etc as although the grass was cut, the cut grass wasn't collected and was left all over the field which meant you couldn't see where you were standing.
Cleanliness was poor in relation to any other accommodation ive been to before. Cobwebs on ceilings of every room which shows it hadn't been dusted/cleaned appropriately before we arrived. Doesnt take long or much effort to remove cobwebs that have obviously been there for some time. Spiders all over the property but appreciate that may be hard to contain. Outdated furniture and only 1 TV in the whole property. The extra "bed" was literally a folded up bit of metal with a mattress that wouldn't be fit for a small child and lats that are all taped up and cracked so not suitable to claim as an appropriate extra bed. This led to most of the party staying there to leave a night early due to the amount of spiders etc that were in all of the bedrooms and not having the homely feeling id expect when staying in this type of accommodation. Dishwasher door was also broke. The Fridge was not cold enough and had a build of ice at the back which meant the fridge doesnt work as it should and takes ages to cool things down even on the coldest setting.. Handles on doors havent been fixed properly as I had seen reviews earlier that raised these concerns. WiFi was very slow and cut out quite a bit but i completely understand this happens at most places with similar accommodation so isnt a massive issue really. Overall, I'd say the property is expensive for what it is and without the great outdoor space, would've been a disappointment.

Great location. Spacious accommodation. Nice outdoor area. Comfortable beds.
It was quite dirty. We found a blister packet of tablets between the sofa cushions. Not good when there's a 2 Yr old mooching about!

Great place to stay in a perfect location close to beaches and towns. Lovely house which accommodated 9 of us easily, set in lovely gardens. Clean, comfortable and cosy and well equipped. The owners were on hand if we needed anything. Would definitely go again.

The Goat Barn is absolutely brilliant for a super family break. The host, Kim was wonderful, really caring and considerate to our needs. We were a family of all over 50's and The Goat Barn really helped to reaffirm the importance of spending precious time with family, for the love and appreciation of each other.
It is such a comfortable, relaxing and well arranged space. Highly recommended.

Amazing location in rural Northumbrian country side. Perfect for a family with small children with lots of outdoor space to play and horses to feed:)

Excellent communication from the hosts. The living space was comfortable and spacious. Excellent selection of board games and we were left a good amount of firewood to use for the stove.
Some areas not 100% clean but definitely acceptable especially at the price.
Some of the windows don’t have blinds which would be nice for complete privacy.

Generous living room and kitchen. Large bathroom with bath and shower. Large kitchen. Beautiful original features. Nice remote location not too far from Alnwick and Newcastle. Good layout. Plenty of parking. Kids toys and games. Wood burner. Leaving the food for us to feed the horses was such a nice touch and went down very well with the kids.
All the door latches in the place need looking at. They are all stiff, screws are pulling out of the doors. Bathroom latch gave up altogether, luckily without trapping anyone inside, but meaning we couldn't lock the door - bit awkward with 5 adults + 2 kids. Living room coffee table (glass) is a disaster with kids as the top isn't attached to the base so anytime kids lean on it (constantly) the whole top moves. Would have been nice to have some basic shower gel in the bathroom. Carpet in the kids room smelled like a human or animal had had an accident there.

The property was huge, with loads of amenities and a wonderful touch of milk, sweets for the kids and apples left to feed the horses. We loved the location and thought it was a great size, with plenty of room for our family.
We were so disappointed that the property was so unclean. As a family of 5, we only had a short 2 night stay away as our summer break and we had invited grandparents to stay with us - who brought their dogs. Although the property had lots of things, we were really disappointed to find the crockery with food stains, the bathrooms unclean, the children’s bedroom smelling of sick, the smoke detector in the kids bedroom totally broken and unusable, towels left in the washing machine and thick dust on every surface. My parents felt disgruntled to pay the extra £40 for the dogs for the two night stay. I was just sad that our only get away, was marred by having to clean everything before we used it.

The property was amazing and we enjoy exploring the grounds. Our young kids were very happy to feed the horses every morning their carrots.
Great property for families, the pictures do not do justice to the amount of space we had. Very large kitchen!

It’s size and location
There was dirt under the seating. No bin bags. Insufficient information about recycling. £10 per day per dog was illogical and grossly excessive (particularly given the cleanliness of the property). Demanding the payment in cash on day 2 was offensive, worsened by the continued demands. The outside area was very disappointing; unsafe and loose steps leading from the house and a dangerous step from the main door. Insufficient seating indoors for eating and even less outside. The bins were placed beyond where water pooled; this resulted in wet feet. Offensive notices in the house about penalties for breach of apparent rules. Insufficient crockery for 10 people (bearing in mind the some crockery will always be in the dishwasher).

The Goat Barn is set in a quiet rural area, & the kids loved feeding the little ponies, as the host had left carrots out for them to do so. We also appreciated a complimentary bottle of wine & some little chocolate eggs (it was Easter), being left for us. It's spacious inside, with good-sized bedrooms & living areas.
The bedding was clean & smelled freshly washed.
The kitchen was well-stocked apart from I couldn't find an oven glove or any kitchen roll, & the Goat Barn is fairly far away from local shops.
Unfortunately there were many spiders & cobwebs everywhere, even places that were easy to reach & clean, & that should have been spotted before our arrival. It's generally in need of a spruce up & a good clean, good examples being the backs of dining chairs with the in-between of the spindles being filthy, & under the rattan-style rug in the living room being thick with dust & dirt underneath; areas that may be over-looked in a home setting, & may only be deep-cleaned periodically, but in a consumer setting need addressing after every guest.
The beds were uncomfortable, with mattresses clearly needing replacing, & my daughter had to move beds on our second night because her mattress was so lumpy.
As far as I could tell, the host lived on site, but we were never actually greeted by them, which would have been nice.
We were told not to drive into the area directly around the Goat Barn, but this meant having to drag our heavy suitcase & all our other baggage from the car park & up a dirt track.
The shower head in the main bathroom needs addressing as water just spurted out of the sides all over the place instead of down where you needed it, & if I'd wanted to bath my children whilst there, I would've had to clean the bath first.

The location is lovely, it's the perfect place for a chilled out getaway and wonderful for stargazing. The interior has a very calm and welcoming feel, we felt very relaxed and at home while the outside space is perfect for socialising.

Location was in a lovely peaceful country location.
Our family included parents and grandparents and 4 children.
It was perfect with 3 double rooms and a room with 2 bunkbeds for the under 8 y old children which they loved.
The set up was perfect with a lovely kitchen with seating for ten and a large lounge with large tv.
Children loved to feed and stroke the horses and goats.
All good. Very close to Whitehouse Farm Centre, beaches and must visit Druridge BayVisitors centre. All within 15-20 mins by car.

Lovely .. .Loved the house and location, brilliant layout, was so cozy, looked lovely and chrismassy, especially when the log fire was lit.. we did,nt have to bring anything. Nice little touches for us and our little ones, also for the dog,a doggy basket with blankets etc, mini buckets of apples to feed the horses, prosecco and sweets for us. 👍.. Owners could, nt have been more helpful. Would def go back, lovely memories were made with family..
. Bathroom door lock was broken, also could, nt lock the door in the separate toilet off the kitchen...finger marks on various doors from previous holiday makers, also rubbish had been left under the settees from last holidaymakers, only seen as children used the recliners.
