Wonderful cottage, real UK life experience.

Cottage and garden were super, well fitted in the countryside. Real UK living experience. I can't use barbeque and garden because I stayed in winter season, but I can imagine it can be fantastic. Host are super, gentle and available.

no shops and pubs/restaurant within walking distance with exception of a nice tearoom and some cooked food (limited opening hours, 9-17 in winter), but everything can be reached in 10-15 min drive

Exclusive rights to another world!

A perfect place to retreat. We just spent a long weekend at this beautiful secluded cottage, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home in the cozy, well-designed interior. The peaceful surroundings provided the perfect escape, allowing us to relax and reconnect. We enjoyed leisurely walks and evenings by the bbq. The self-contained setup was fantastic, enabling us to prepare meals in the well-equipped kitchen, with stunning views from the dining area. Our hosts were warm and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, I highly recommend this cottage. It’s a hidden gem that promises relaxation and unforgettable memories! We can’t wait to return!

Cosy and peaceful

The little cottage is secluded, clean, cosy and in beautiful surrounding. Mike and Vicky are lovely hosts who were easy to speak to and also left us to it once the initial intros and tours had been concluded, they were also available anytime should we need them. Great hosts. It was warm and dry and everything in the cottage worked well including the wifi! Parking was brilliant

Filled with character - peaceful and delightful.

Starting with a warm and cheery welcome from the hosts, we had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Mike and Vicky, who did everything possible to ensure we had everything we needed. Lile Cottage is spotlessly clean, thoughtfully presented and filled with character. Parking is easy and the location is peaceful and charming, with easy access to nearby attractions, services and facilities in every direction. Ours was a short visit, chiefly to see family in Ulverston, but we would absolutely recommend this property as a base for a couple on a touring holiday. We loved the whole experience, no quibbles - and we would be delighted to stay again if an opportunity arises. Just a pity we could not stay longer!

The historic tranquil property-cosy and well-equipped. The fascinating mill museum developed by Vicky and Mike. A great base for exploring an area I was unfamiliar with.

A lovely peaceful cottage in beautiful countryside surroundings

We loved the fact it was a converted pig sty, what a fantastic conversion. All clean and tidy with everything you need. Mike and Vicky have also done a fantastic job with the Mill museum, loads of interesting facts and history.

Quiet pigsty retreat with warm welcome

Location: relatively remote, very peaceful. really appealed to me that I was staying in a listed pigsty! Thick stone walls made it very cool inside. Close wildlife ; many birds & fox just outside.
