Wonderful if you don't mind the effort to reach it by foot and the older house
The top view over Porlezza and Lugano lake is fantastic. The air if fresh and you can enjoy the morning sun from the balcony or terrasse. If you go in the summer time, the small pool is a big plus, especially if the other house is not booked or if you booked both houses. It is an idyllic place, ideal for a summer holiday, if you don't mind not being able to reach it by car. We also liked the paintings and decorations. The small laundry room with the washing machine can also be a bonus.
Casa Pina/Rosa is located a few hundred meters up on the mountain and the access road is not opened for visitor cars. We didn't know that when we booked as it is not clearly described. You get one free ride on the arrival and another one on departure, but be prepared for a Roller coaster experience in the small 4x4 car, with the luggage separately loaded in the trailer attached to the ATV! Going up the mountain by foot takes about 20minutes on a steep concrete road. Sometimes the physical effort was difficult for us and after the 2nd day when my wife got sick, the kids refused to go out in the city to get food. Luckily we left shortly after! Getting food or drinks up by foot is quite difficult, although the owners are nice and offered to help if needed. Because of the inaccessible location, it is really not recommended if you are not in good physical shape and without mountain shoes. Casa Pina is the older house of the two terraced houses and has an older kitchen and living room. We would recommend the other one, casa Rosa, also because of the nicer kitchen, table and terrasse. The bathroom of the old house (casa Pina) had a bathtub, but no curtains or holder for the shower head, so it was rather uncomfortable and we ended up with a lot of wafer on the floor. Also, it was rather cold on the arrival day, before we decided to pay for the heating. Also, keep in mind that is is a terraces house and you may have to share with the neighbors if you are not a large enough group to book both houses. We were surprised the heating as it is not included in the rental price. One sac of pellets is 15 EURO (but we got it for a bit less) and lasts max 1 night, depending when you start the heating in the evening. Also, there is no private parking. The owners showed us two locations free of charge in the village near the road going up, but on occasions we had difficulties finding a free spot.
