Beautiful location, comfy beds, great facilties
access to property was difficult, next door neighbour has an old car and a van almost blocking the driveway up to the property which made bringing our luggage up to the cottage very difficult.

Amazing views! Comfy double bed.
The flush on the toilet was the only thing that bothered me.

Cosy, quiet spot with fabulous views and the things folk need for a comfortable stay. Property is close to the centre of activities for Matlock Bank.
Access to public transport into the Peak District is good, even on Sundays, with busses and trains an option. Useful, as nearest basic supplies are 1.5 miles away. A bottle of wine and a handful of celebrations were left for us on arrival, which was a nice touch, even though we didn't drink it.
Arrived by train - that hill on foot would be too much for some people. Can imagine parking would be a nightmare and people would need a small car and be confident reversing.
Worth pointing out that the stairs within the property are steep and some may find those difficult.
'End of season' TLC would benefit some areas within the property.
Changeover staff hadn't replenished tea/sugar/coffee/biscuits as pictured - and had overlooked some vegetables in the cupboard.
Found Pillow Partners registration process rather tedious. Updating review two weeks after checkout, as the additional Pillow Partners £100 deposit has not been returned - no comms and no refund, despite terms of booking stating a return of deposit within 14 days of checkout. Breaching terms and conditions of booking is very poor indeed and I will not book a property which uses Pillow Partner in future.
Also responding to the below response - we had one teabag and two teaspoons of sugar in the pots in the kitchen when we arrived - so they were not refilled - and we actually left some that we bought so future guests would not be as bereft as we were.

Super comfy cottage with the most stunning view! Nice and clean upon arrival. We loved having the use of the wood burner in the evening. Our son loved the stay too and he said he would love to come back again!
The only thing people need to keep in mind with this property is the location, it’s incredibly high up with very steep hills, we all had to make multiple stops climbing up the hills 😅

Location and view
internally property is tiered needs renovating or at least a freshen up, we needed to buy air fresheners due to musty smell, toilet flush also needs attention

Views, close to Matlock Bath, cool in the summer, self check in, they returned the deposit promptly
Half dead wasps all over the bedroom floor.
BEWARE: Booking process was very stressful. The booking portal requests £100 by debit card (via a seperate portal called "pillow partners"), multiple selfies for facial recognition, uploading of ID documents, signing a long and very landlord friendly contract which demands stripping of beds, and other chores which make the £70 cleaning fee seem like a gift. Property is managed by a big company and lacks a personal touch. Spent the whole trip worrying about the excessive number of ways one can lose £100 (or more). These terms and conditions are not presented before booking and yet the place is non-refundable so if you disagree they keep the money - which is illegal! For £135 a night, too much stress.

The view was stunning. Location was excellent, the cottage had everything we needed. The yard to the rear and front was enclosed so was excellent for our dogs. Dog bowls were available.
We had milk, orange juice, wine and chocolates waiting for us upon arrival which was a lovely touch
The beds were very comfortable. The Cottage was spacious, warm and comfortable.
Parking was tricky, couldn't get close to the cottage so had to unload the car on the street then find a parking space. We managed ok though 😀

The location was perfect for the views of the peaks
The very steep hill to climb to get there and the parking! But that is a small issue, it’s worth it when you get to the top

Lovely cottage and the view was amazing.
Bed was really comfortable, and everything was really clean.
Good location and we went on some great walks from the property
Matlock Bath is a lovely town.
If you don’t like walking up hills then this would not be for you. But we didn’t have any issues with this. And loved the cottage and its location.

I really like the views. I love that when you was there in the illuminations that you could see all of the fireworks. The neighbours were friendly and matt like a Matlock bath in general is somewhere that everyone should visit.
The little small

The double bed was very comfy. The cottage was cosy and welcoming. Very nicely decorated with good kitchen facilities. It's a good steep hike up to the cottage but the views are worth every muscle toning step.

Fantastic countryside view from the front room and from the front bedroom, lovely main double aspect bedroom, fab views, light, bright and huge bed
Kitchen cooking equipment not great, didn't like the toaster and kettle being in the dining room, toast set off the smoke alarm

It was just perfect! The house is beautiful and so is the view. Couldn't recommend this place more.
It is ontop of a step hill. So if you want to work on those glutes this is the place for you.
I had some issues booking with my Amex. Sometimes it accepted and sometimes it didn't.

Great views, warm house, comfy beds, good size table, lovely house, my friend wanted to stay longer in the house, very relaxing
Outside abit untidy, shower & toilet needs attention, wine and UHT milks were off but nice offering, small room smelt abit smoky and you cant open windows

Good location and price. Comfy beds. Staff were very helpful when our daughter managed to lock us out the house.
Bathroom wasn’t clean and lots of rubbish out the front of the house from next door.

Nice location, well maintained and comfortable place of stay. Inside the property is so welcoming with soothing colours (wall paper and painting).
Finding the location on maps was a little tricky, with the help of the contact details and using ‘what3words’ app it was an easy find.
The road towards the property was too narrow and uphill, finding a street parking closer to the property got a little challenging!

Lovely views and lovely house. Very children friendly. Was anxious never used pillow partners before, but no issues. I was sent a very useful .pdf for checking in and finding the property.
Hills but it is Matlock bath so what do expect.

Check in at 4 was late considering we were paying 200 pounds for that night.
