About this house rental
Wake up overlooking crystal clear Bear Lake from our beautiful wrap around deck! Enjoy the private, serene setting just steps from Bear Lake. Our beautiful home has 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms + additional sleeping space. Two stone fireplaces, soaring ceilings and large windows overlooking the lake make this a true Northern Michigan getaway!
Our home is available year-round! In Summer enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. There are also numerous golf courses in the area. In Fall and Winter spend time hunting, ice fishing and snowmobiling. Access ORV/snowmobile trails just minutes from the house on M-72. Or head on over to Grayling for sledding, tubing and skiing at Hanson Hills Recreation Area.
We have a cozy fire pit to enjoy on cool evenings. There's plenty of outdoor seating for gathering, dining and just relaxing.
We offer three kayaks, 1 canoe, paddles and life jackets for your enjoyment. There is a dock with one lift for your PWC (1). There are additional posts so that you may secure your boat alongside our dock without getting in the water.
***Please note High Speed Boating Permitted Only from 11am to 7:30pm***
**Please note there are dirt roads leading up to our home. In the event of snow, you will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle and good tires to access the road directly leading to our home**
**Please note there is a security camera outside the home that points toward the back door. There is NO recording done inside the home**
Our home is about an hour from Traverse City and situated almost exactly between Kalkaska and Grayling. The location is ideal for an Up North getaway yet very close to Michigan's top destinations.

*Fully equipped kitchen with coffee pot, microwave, dishwasher, stove, oven, and refrigerator/freezer (+ second fridge/freezer in basement)
*Laundry room with washer and dryer
*Family room/dining area with beautiful lake views, tv, gas fireplace. Two double sliding doors lead to the large wrap around deck with grill, dining table and additional seating
*Main floor has 2 bedrooms (one queen and one full), a full bathroom and a sofa bed
*Upstairs features a loft sleeping area with two bunk beds, a full bathroom and a small bedroom with one additional bunk bed
* Basement living space includes plenty of seating, tv, gas fireplace, dining table, game tables, a futon and a sofa bed
*We have plenty of toys, books and games for children. We have two pack and plays and two high chairs. There are utensils and cups/plates/bowls for small children

Wonderful house in fantastic condition. Super clean and everything went smooth from start to finish. Lake is gorgeous and super clear. Great communication and use the exact directions given since some GPS will take you down another road. Roads are dirt in many spots but this is northern Michigan. We brought our boat and dock was great to use. There is about 72 steps down to the ramp on the water so that means the house sits up and overlooks lake. The lake is a two story lake with depths to about 60 to 64 feet. It requires a variety of skills to fish. We saw lots of very big bass and caught about 50 fish but all were under 13 inches. Fish included Rainbow, Small Mouth Bass, Rock Bass and Bluegill. Caught these fish with a large array of lures and many during tolling deeper sections. The big fish we saw really didnt have any interest even though live bait was hanging in front of them. We did some sight casting which worked. After a week of fishing what we noticed was that we had the most action on the side where the public boat ramp is located. I did find it odd that we caught no largemouth bass. The Rainbows were about 10 to 12 inches and caught trolling 20 foot plus deep water sections. It is suprising that the lake is not stocked with lots of Walleye and Perch. With the nice depths it would seem like a winning combo. Overall, it is a beautiful lake that is fun and not overly busy.Without a doubt, a great property and host. Once you arrive you will want to hang out there.

Celebrated with family (all 6) of us, our son’s college graduation! We had a wonderful time! The house is amazing! Absolutely loved it! Clean, easy to talk with owners!! Love the beach as well! Would recommend to anyone

Well equipped house and owner is very responsive and great communicator. Everyone had great time only thing is really not for elderly due to steps to water. Otherwise highly recommend.

The host was very friendly and accommodating. She answered any questions we had promptly. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the waterfront/beach area was great for our grandchildren. We enjoyed the spacious deck, amazing sunsets, kayaks, air hockey table, and foosball table. It was an ideal house for our extended family vacation. We are considering renting again next year.
