The Lakes of the North amenities include: beach access to Harold Lake and Pencil Lake, access to miles of DNR maintained ORV/Snowmobile trails, clubhouse with indoor pool, water slide, hot tub, lazy river and wading pool, fitness center, arcade/game room, 18 hole golf course, restaurant/bar, winter sports area with ice skating and cross country skiing. Daily or weekly passes can be purchased for use of the clubhouse. Lake Harold is just 2 short miles from the house and is a wonderful amenity to enjoy swimming, fishing, boating and more. Here you will find boat, canoe, kayak, paddle board rentals, sand volley ball court, basketball court, playground, pavilion with grilling and a beautiful setting to watch the sun set.
Fishing: Each year the association stocks about $3,000 worth of fish in the two lakes. In Harold Lake you can find pan fish, smallmouth and largemouth bass, perch, pike and Crappie. In Pencil Lake you can find pan fish, bass, perch, Walleye and trout.
Enjoy day trips to many great destinations. Located less than an hour from Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey and Mackinaw City. Boyne Mountain, Shanty Creek, Otsego Club, Treetops Resort are 30 minutes drive. Mancelona is only 10 minutes away for groceries and Gaylord is only 25 minutes away for all your needs.
Trail Riding: The house offers a perfect set up for trips to ride trails. The half circle drive way offers easy access for pulling trailers and plenty of room for parking multiple vehicles and trailers. There is an 18' x 20' outbuilding that you will have access to for a locked storage to keep your toys over night. Whether coming in spring to fall for ORV trails or coming in the winter for snowmobile trails the proximity to the trails offers easy access. The mud room in the house offers a great drop zone for all your gear with more than enough space to hang up coats, pants, etc
