The property was immaculate, very comfortable and perfect for our needs. The decor was lovely and we felt at home the minute we walked in. The property was easy to find, in the most beautiful of settings, within a deer forest (we actually saw a herd of deer and a large stag in their highland forest habitat - amazing !). The Ben Nevis gondola is no more than a 5 minute drive away and the location is close to Fort William and the remainder of the highlands is within easy reach. We would definitely love to stay there again in the future and only wish we’d had longer on this occasion.

Peace, quiet and wildlife!

The most fabulous location, we saw deer everyday and there was an abundance of birds. Property was spotless and comfy. Would definitely stay again!

The check-in was fine, and although the property was hard to find initially, the host was helpful in helping us over the phone. We also saw two deer and a peacock in the surrounding woods!

Tranquil stay.

Thistle Do is located in a forested area, populated by deer, well off the main road between Fort William and Spean Bridge. It is quiet. If you are out in the evening, you may see the deer come for their evening feed; we did, and for us it was a great novelty. The Spar supermarket in Spean Bridge is only a few minutes drive for supplies. The apartment is comprehensively well equipped, and we wanted for nothing in the kitchen, as we prepared all our evening meals at ‘home’. We had magnificent weather and had morning views over pine forest to the Nevis Range. The bedrooms are upstairs: a queen and a single, as well as a toilet and hand basin. The bathroom is downstairs. There’s a closet just inside the front door (in the little mud room/entrance hallway) for hanging jackets, which is very handy. Plenty of room in both bedrooms to open suitcases. Feather quilts (not polyester)

We didn’t plan to stay longer. :-( Note the bedrooms are upstairs, so be mindful that you’ll need to lug your suitcases up there.

Lovely cottage in a brilliant location.

A great location and a really lovely quiet little cottage - we loved the herd of wild deer which we saw several times around the property. Brilliant central point to explore Fort William and Ben Nevis. Very clean and nice finishing touches - a great place to stay. Good communication from host.

The terrestrial TV wasn't working during our stay (although we could log in with digital apps). We also had issues with the hot water, the host sorted the problem out quickly the first time but it happened again on our last night. However, this would not detract us from staying again and recommending this place to others. Issues like this can happen during home stays and our visit was still very comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A smashing wee find in the West of Scotland

The apartment was immaculate and well thought out. The living room was spacious and comfy with books and games. The kitchen was better stocked than my own! Must get a garlic press. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The view from the living room was lovely and the area is wonderfully quiet. Very handy for both Spean Bridge and Fort William. You'll find an Aldi and M&S food hall in Fort William so no need to worry if you decide to cook for yourself. Instructions to find it were good, just keep following the wee lane to left until you see the cattle grid. Communication with the hosts was great and the whole process was stress free

The only issue we had was the weather but there is nothing you can do about that except put on a raincoat and get on with it.

The best place we have stayed in so far and would love to go back.

The location was amazing overlooking a pine forest and the Scottish highlands. The house was two stories, was very cosy and definitely a home from home. There were plenty of amenities with an extra toilet upstairs, sliding doors opening out to a deck and a very ample kitchen space.

The only thing we did not like was that we had to travel from the other side of the world to find such an idyllic spot.

Thistle Do was a lovely little home away from home - we had everything we needed and were so comfortable. The home was bigger than expected and we enjoyed playing board games in the evening and being able to cook for ourselves. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
