Chipped plates and mugs. To be fair they probably need replaced regularly so an easy miss by hosts.Bathroom door handle area a bit grubby, but bedrooms and kitchen etc exceptionally clean. A wee welcome basket would have been a lovely touch. Would jump at the chance to go back, so just me being picky. Thanks for a lovely stay

Wonderful!

We have had an amazing stay at Thistle cottage celebrating my mum's 60th. The cottage is absolutely stunning and sparkling clean! Alex and Bart have fantastic interior design skills and decorated the cottage in great style. The bedrooms are gorgeous and super comfortable with comfy beds and crispy white sheets!!! The kitchen is equipped in everything you would need for cooking meals. The living room has wonderful log burner, couple of armchairs and comfy sofa, where you can enjoy wonderful view. The bathroom is lovely with stylish bathtub and separate shower cabin. I loved Alex's and Bart's attention to details with environment friendly cleaning products and cool toilet rolls! The front garden is fenced and secure, perfect if you are bringing your four legged friend with you. Our dog had best time running around and exploring. The surrounding area is just lovely with plenty of little walks for those who cannot walk much like my father. The cottage is in perfect location for those who like long hikes and Munro bagging and also perfect for road trips along the part of NC500 where you can see most breath taking views. During our 4 night stay we climbed 2 Munros: Ben Wyvis and Tom na Gruagaich, went for road trip around Torridon, visited Corrieshalloch Gorge and other fantastic spots. We highly recommend staying here! We are looking forward to hopefully stay here again at some point.

Amazing stylish Cottage in stunning location - what a gem!!

What a gem! We stated at Thistle Cottage, set in absolute stunning location with a mountain view and surrounded by forest and greenery. The cottage is very spacious (amazing value for money) and very stylishly decorated and super clean. Equipped with everything we needed and more, hosts thought about it all. There is a fenced garden our dog loved. Bed was very comfy, had an amazing night sleep and the views from bedroom are so beautiful. Hosts are super friendly and accommodating. We loved it so much, it's just perfect. Highly recommend and will be definitely coming back. Thank you!!

Perfection! My dream cottage.

A beautiful cottage in a quiet location. It is ideally situated for exploring the north west of Scotland. Met Bart, the host, who was friendly and helpful. The cottage was immaculate and I loved the eclectic and quirky mix of furniture and art work which created a homely feel. It is a real home from home; I loved it.

The cottage itself was seriously beautiful and an absolute joy to stay in for four nights. The location was excellent - lovely walks right from the doorstep but also perfectly placed to explore the coast and highlands by car. Our hosts were wonderful and we’d highly recommend Thistle Cottage!!

Exceptional

The cottage was stylish, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The location was just fantastic, beautiful garden to hang out in overlooking wild flowers, fields and mountains. The unexpected bonus was Little Garve, a local beauty spot just 15 minutes walk away down a forest metalled road where there was a terrific adventure play park for little ones - as we had a two-year-old with us, he was more than happy, which meant the rest of us were too!!

It was a perfect place for us to relax and enjoy local walks as well getting the train.

Hard to name just a few things we liked as there were many! The house itself had everything you needed and was very comfy and clean. The surrounding area was marvelous and tranquil with a great view from the bedroom and living room window.

Wonderful family break

Super hosts! They really have thought of everything! A much needed break for my little family after all the stress of Christmas and you could not find a more stunning place to unwind. The cottage has a lovely gated garden, perfect for my 2 year old to run around. The whole cottage is beautifully decorated, the fire was made and ready to light. There’s games and books which we loved. All sorts of literature about the local area, which even as locals ourselves we found extremely useful. Beautiful walks nearby and an amazing play park just 15 minutes up the road - a real hidden gem! Thank you so much for having us, we can’t wait to come back.
