About this apartment rental
This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom is the perfect condo for any large family. With 2 sets of bunk beds in guest room, 2 full beds in other guest room, and king in master there is plenty of space for everyone. Located in the penthouse building, unit 37 is just a short walk to the beach.
Beach Service – If you didn’t pre-reserve beach chairs, just stop by the beach hut or call the Excel team at In addition to chairs and umbrellas, Excel offers kayaks and paddle boards for rent, as well as an assortment of snacks and drinks.
Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, and Shuffleboard – Forget your gear? No worries, you can check out rackets, balls, and more at the front desk at no charge!
Grilling Out – In the busy months of spring and summer, many families opt to grill out rather than go out. We have eight charcoal grills available. There are several seafood markets nearby, including Blalock’s which is just a block to the west (p.s., their tuna dip is a must try!).
Fitness Center – Did you know we have a fitness center in the Penthouse building? Just stop by the front desk to borrow the key.
Family Activities – There’s always something fun on the itinerary at Silver Dunes:
• Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Courtyard – Easter Sunday, 9 am in the courtyard
• Scavenger Hunts – Throughout the Spring – for children of all ages! Just stop by the office to pick up your scavenger hunt necessities. Once you’ve collected everything, stop back by the office to pick a surprise from the Silver Dunes treasure chest!
• Movies in the Courtyard – Bring a picnic blanket, your beach chairs, and join us on Mondays at dusk throughout June and July. We show a different family-friendly movie each week.
• S’mores Nights with Live Music at the Pool –Wednesday nights are awesome at Silver Dunes! Throughout June and July, the firepits will be out, s’mores roasting, and tunes playing!

Very nice unit with everything you need away from home. We only had one issue with the door handle breaking going out to the patio the last night. Everything else was perfection!

We've had family coming to Silver Dunes since the 70's and it has remained our favorite place to stay in Destin. The beach is extremely well maintained, unlike other places we've stayed along 30 A. The grounds are very nice and provide the perfect place for family to enjoy.

Unit 37 is new to the rental program. The furniture is nice and comfortable, but the condo itself is outdated. The carpet needs to be replaced and a couple of the sliding doors were pretty hard to open. The dryer had a load of towels left in it.
Unfortunately, the rates here have gone up almost every year for the last 5-6 years with no increased amenities in return. After 30+ years of coming to Silver Dunes every year we will not be returning next summer. The customer service is just not there any more. For the prices and what you get for your money, I would look elsewhere around Destin.
