Casa Almut - Lake Como Center - Varenna

It was in such a great location. Far enough away from Varenna that I didn’t feel close to the tourist center and Castello Di Vezio is literally in the back yard. The little village is quiet and absolutely adorable. Cristina is an absolute gem. She is kind, speaks English very well and is very hospitable. Her property is clean, well maintained and feels like a home away from home. She puts a lot of thought and effort into making sure her guests feel comfortable and have everything they need. I couldn’t recommend her enough!

Absolutely nothing. I would stay here again and again.

Aussicht

Beautiful and interesting old village half way up the mountain. Enjoyed visiting the nearby castle and walking down the steep mountain footpath to visit the gardens down by the lake. Free night bus from Varenna station was a n excellent service up to the village.

We liked that we had the whole place to ourselves, the host was very helpful, the location was not touristy

It was a challenging drive to the top of the mountain! Once there we were not inclined to drive down especially at night. It just meant we had to plan our day more carefully.
