Beautiful and interesting old village half way up the mountain. Enjoyed visiting the nearby castle and walking down the steep mountain footpath to visit the gardens down by the lake.
Free night bus from Varenna station was a n excellent service up to the village.

We liked that we had the whole place to ourselves, the host was very helpful, the location was not touristy
It was a challenging drive to the top of the mountain! Once there we were not inclined to drive down especially at night. It just meant we had to plan our day more carefully.

Everything was just magnificent! Cristina is a very hospitable hostess. These are not just apartments for a couple of days, but it feels like you are going on vacation to the house of your parents or beloved grandmother. Everything is so cozy and homely!
