Villa Laura Charme Apartments

Big advantage for that room - terrace, which enables beautiful mountain view and sea view all around, also it is quite private - as you see only rooftops around, nobody can stare to sunbathing you from any windows. Also pool is not limited by hours, so no problem to have refresh even in late evening. More than perfect communication and clear owner's instructions enabled our worry free stay. We were even surprised, owner gifted us local wine and chips. Would return and recommend.

We stayed in the top floor, so ceiling height was limited in the bedrooms, but our daughter even liked this shallow ceiling design. Some accessories could be added in the kitchen (for ex. bread knife, wider cutting board etc., but this is most probably will improve by time. Double bed in one of the bedrooms had some incline, so matrace might need replacement or fix - was a challenge for my wife, but then we changed sides and no big problem for me heavier :) Quite challenge was also key management, some stress not to leave keys inside, as then all locks - may be also improved with time using card/rfid system, or at least spare set of keyring.

The apartment is located very close to the beach. The pool area was lovely and well maintained. The apartment was clean and the terrace was much larger than expected. A cot and highchair were provided for the baby. Angelo welcomed us and arranged early check in so we could put the baby down for a nap after a long travel day. This was much appreciated. He was very helpful and communicative before we arrived, communicating via WhatsApp and we were able to pay him directly at the apartment with cash or card. Air-conditioning worked well and there was a washing machine in the apartment which was great. There is also an outdoor shower and BBQ.

The apartment itself (upstairs attic apartment) was a little cramped. The beams in the bedroom and living area are very low and my husband hit his head twice. Be aware and I would not book if you are tall. I believe the other apartments do not have this issue Check out was 10am which is quite early and while the apartment is very close to the beach, it is in a somewhat residential area, and is around a 20 minute walk to the town centre and a 10/15 minute walk from the supermarket. This was not a big issue per se but something to be wary of. The TV also did not seem to work although we may just not have been able to figure it out and we were not too pushed. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would probably book again if we were in Avola (but likely not the attic apartment).
