we had been in Venice 15 years ago and my wife stated that, if we returned, she had to stay on the Grand Canal. This property met that challenge and exceeded our hopes. it was very comfortable and well appointed. The property team communicated very well during check in. we were really pleased and hope to return soon.

The joining instructions could have been sent out earlier but worked all right on the day.
The dishwasher did not work but the kitchen was fine.
The double bed in the main bedroom was very hard and the mattress did not fit the bottom.
The noise of motor boats for most of the night was annoying. But that is what you would expect right on the Grand Canal

In a historic building which limits the owner from modifications, but furniture, mattresses, linens and other non structural items need updating. Host was accommodating in meeting us early as it took less time to get there than we thought. Very good communication leading up to checkin. Gave us a history of the building and the family that owns it. No air conditioning which I may have missed on the listing or maybe they don’t mention it, not sure. It was very hot and they did provide fans and suggested leaving windows open for a breeze but after getting eaten alive by mosquitos couldn’t leave window open at night. Mattresses. Pillows and linen need to be improved. Host said housekeeper was around all day every day and to ask if we needed anything. Over 5 days we never saw her once, granted we were usually gone 9-5 sight seeing, but when I asked the host for more toilet paper and fresh towels I was told “you were proveded with 4-5 rolls and because we were only stayin 4 nights we would have to provide our own as the lid was not a hotel, and if we wanted fresh towels we.could ask the housekeeper, but usually they do not provide extra towels for stays under a week
