Very clean hotel, with plenty of greenery in the garden areas. Very confortable room, nicely appointed. Great food in the restaurant, with books and board games in common room. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful.
The garden areas have dark areas, with steps that you cannot see at night. The front desk has limited hours. The cleaning staff will help you if something comes up, but half the front desk staff will say "that is your problem; these are our hours".
The dealbreaker for us was that the prices are in US dollars (as a mexican traveling within Mexico, I find it offensive), and the tip was added to the restaurant bill (which is illegal, as far as I know). We spent three days in Bacalar and this was the only restaurant, coffee shop or tour operator where this happened.

The staff was amazing and attentive, very genuine and fun to talk to!
There were some creature comforts missing that we didn't realize (TV, had to ask for a hair dryer, body soap, wash clothes), but they were able to accommodate for most of the things we needed.

Breakfast was poor and items such as coffe and yogurt had to be paid.
It’s good to know what is the breakfast so that we don’t get disappointed.i did not expect to pay for the coffee and yoghurt !!!
