    Hotel Tavinos is a great place to stay while in Kyoto. It had its own quirky animal charm that is everywhere in the hotel and gives it a signature style. The location is very good. Located between Kyoto Station and the busy streets of Centrl Kyoto. It has a train line nearby, a bus stop just across the road and a 7/11 connected to the hotel. The checkin process is self done, with some help from staff. However the staff could have been a but more informative, but were good overall. The facilities were great. For the price paid the room felt very spacious(when compared to other Japanese hotels). I had 2 single beds (which I didn't need) which were comfy. Had space to put my luggage to the side. You can also slide your luggage under the bed. The bathroom was clean and the design maximised its space. Well designed rooms. It also has a coin operated laundry (washer and dryer) which is very popular among travellers. It also has a communal lobby where you can refill on water, make a cup of tea/coffee and pick of some free Danish and crossaints for breakfast. Also allowed interaction with other travellers with small games and activities. I recommend this hotel if you are staying Kyoto. Will visit other hotels in the Tavinos group!

    Saya pernah tidur di tokyo tavinos dan itu bagus, saya coba dikyoto ternyata sama bagusnya Saya rekomen dasi hotel ini dan dia berada di posisi strategis dengan staff yang sangat membantu Tersedia minuman isi ulang dan sarapan yang sangat membantu , tersedia mesin laundry

    We have stayed in both the Asakusa and Kyoto locations and we liked this more. The location is suuuper convenient and we loved that there was a 7-11 just downstairs. Only feedback is the carpets could be cleaner lol

    I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. When I arrived, one receptionist directed me to use the self-check-in machine next to the front desk. Before explaining the process, he left to assist another guest. A second receptionist then helped me complete the check-in, but neither of them smiled or showed any warmth during the entire interaction. What surprised me most was that this was not an isolated incident. Throughout my 3-day stay, none of the reception staff appeared friendly or welcoming. There was a noticeable lack of hospitality. Even staff in shops and restaurants around Kyoto were generally much friendlier. At this hotel, however, I never once received a smile from the front desk staff. I also requested room cleaning, but was told that housekeeping is only provided for guests staying 4 days or longer. I am not sure whether this is a standard policy in Kyoto, but it was unexpected and inconvenient. In addition, the toilet flush button seemed to be faulty and occasionally emitted an unpleasant odor. The location and facilities were acceptable, but the lack of hospitality and the maintenance issue negatively affected my overall experience.
