Our stay at B&B HOTEL St. Gallen was disappointing due to the unfriendly welcome from the receptioni

The hotel’s modern style was appealing.

Unfortunately, our stay at B&B HOTEL St. Gallen started very unpleasantly. In the evening of September 26, 2025, the receptionist greeted us with coldness and ignorance, showing no basic courtesy. Such behavior is unacceptable in a hotel of this brand. It’s a pity, as the place has potential, but the service completely ruined our impression.

Good hotel close a short bus ride away from the centre of St Gallen.

The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were spacious and clean.

If you are coming by car, they do have a parking garage, but remember to book in advance! Otherwise you can pay for parking in the street for which they have a detailed "how to" manual. The hotel is located close to a train station but outside the city centre, which can be reached by bus in 10 minutes.

The parking fee is expensive. The staff was telling me « there is no free parking lot in Switzerland. Well, maybe it is true but not that pricey. The staff could have answered me politely.

Everything we needed - would stay again.

The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, good size and modern, the hotel has good facilities and it looks like the photos! The room was very black-out because of the shutter mechanism and curtains so we had a very good night's sleep. The hotel is also very close to a supermarket, bus stop and train station which made it very handy for our travels. It was good value for money and I would stay here again.

Not much I didn't like - just to know the rooms have 1 USB and the swiss plug, not European plug socket - good to know for travellers as you will need that adapter. There is no complimentary beverage like you get in other hotels.

Convenient and clean, but bring your own food!

It was practical and clean. Super close to the train. Most of the staff was friendly.

There was no private parking, but it was easy enough to find parking and the staff was helpful. The breakfast was pretty average but still expensive. We spilled something at breakfast and the staff member was very annoyed - it was an accident, but the attitude of the staff member was unpleasant. There are not many food places nearby, but there is a hotel vending machine. The snacks are very expensive (14 CHF for insta noodles!). Some more reasonably priced food/snacks at the hotel would have been a plus.

Comfortable, practical stay

A practical solution for a more affordable stay in St Gallen, it is a five walk to the train station - and then it's literally three minutes of train to the town centre. The room was tiny and essential, but did the job. Very clean, easy access to an underground car park.

The hotel is a bit out of the way and the vending machine is very expensive so recommend getting your water and snacks at the Migros or supermarkets in town. The bathroom was spotless in terms of cleaning but the furniture was very squicky!

It could have been a great experience without the rude blonde lady at the reception.

I liked the hotel in general. It is definitely a budget hotel, so you shouldn't have high expectations. Although it is a 3 star hotel, I liked the breakfast and the area. At the breakfast they had gluten-free bread for request and a good coffee. The eggs didn't taste good but they had gluten-free cornflakes which is amazing if you can only eat gluten-free options. I liked the breakfast options in general. The Migros and its restaurant is close to the hotel so you can buy anything for yourself in less then 15 minutes.

The hotel is a little bit far from the main train station but you can take the bus and it will take you there in a few minutes. The staff left me with mixed feelings. Some of them were nice and helpful but there was a short blonde lady with a rude tone at the reception who refused to help me when I needed help the most. I was making a new booking on booking.com when an error happened and the room was not available anymore but I was charged already. So I booked another 1 night at this BB hotel to solve my situation temporarily. I called booking.com helpdesk but the guy I talked to about my refund misunderstood which booking I meant and they sent me an email after the call about cancelling my BB Hotel stay which was false. So I asked the receptionist to please wait for the end of the story because I am in a big mess already and it is a long story. She refused to listen and cut me off in the middle of the story and she said she didn't have time for this and asked me:"what do you need, what do you need?" I said I need her to please listen to the story so she would know what to check in the system. She kept on saying:"She doesn't have time for this because her boss is going to be angry and she has work to finish until 10 and she won't be able to finish as she is alone for 300 people and the system will shut down at 10..."She also added: "Welcome to a 3 star hotel, where nobody cares! This is not a 4 star hotel where they kiss your ass and jump if you need anything" (2 swiss men were witnessing this conversation). She was making comments in swiss language to them about me while I was standing there desperate for some help while being 5 months pregnant. She absolutely lacked empathy, patience and she is not a fit for the hospitality industry. After she talked to me like this without any respect I asked her:"Why do you have to talk to me in this f...ing rude way?

The bed quality was perfect, air condition, tv and WIFI worked smoothly. Due to the absence of any room services and door lock with numeric code, the check-out is very fast :) - practically does not exist.

The comfort and equipment of the room is so basic, that even for two person there is only one chair, one paper jar and a single bed sheet. The breakfast is quite overpriced, a similar choice is available nearby for half price. It is difficult to understand why the wi-fi access is limited to three devices per room...?

Nice room Under 5 minutes to train station, bus stops and supermarket - buses 9,6 and 11. Very spacious shower and I loved it Very clean on arrival though check in very slow as they couldn't find our booking A little issue we had was resolved very quickly

You have to ask for the free public transport card from Reception, they should provide automatically and then there were issues with the internet so we couldn't get it on the first day, on arrival, they didn't send it to us properly Lift a little slow Our room wasn't cleaned on one day but we were able to get towels from reception with no problems Wasn't informed of emergency contact overnight as no phone in room or reception overnight Tea/coffee facilities not in room but a coffee machine in reception at a reasonable price Not really any restaurants in the area - a nice (but expensive Chinese around the corner, a pizza delivery up the road, also expensive, discovered a very nice Italian restaurant on the main road with good prices on the bus route next to Migros)

Good choice for a stay in St. Gallen

Good hotel for a stay in St. Gallen, near a bus stop connected to the main station. New and wide rooms, comfortable bathroom (expecially the shower), satisfactory breakfast.

The location was a little bit noisy. After 11 pm all lights were switched off in the hall, also near the vending machines, creating problems to people that wanted to buy something.
