Great location & decor, but the apartment needs a deep clean

The location is excellent — right on the main street with easy access to shops, cafés, restaurants, and the lake promenade. The apartment looks like the photos, is nicely decorated, and the kitchen is well equipped. Internet and hot water worked well. The host also allowed me to leave my luggage earlier, which I appreciated.

Unfortunately, the apartment did not feel properly cleaned on arrival and would benefit from a deep cleaning and better maintenance. There was a strong smell when I entered, and I had to air out the apartment for many hours. The kitchen area had multiple hygiene issues (dirty dishes left in the dishwasher, crumbs and food residue in drawers, stained utensils, and cookware that did not appear fully cleaned). The bathroom and toilet also had visible stains and areas that didn’t feel thoroughly cleaned (toilet seat, shower walls, and radiator/towel heater). I ended up spending a couple of hours cleaning myself to feel comfortable for the stay. Check-in communication was also not very smooth, as the entry code was only sent after I asked, and it didn’t work immediately.

Great location in Evian but kitchen in need of a thorough check.

Great location on the main pedestrian street. Clean and modern decor.

Kitchen not well organised. Capsule coffee machine instead of filter or cafetière. It’s is hard to refill. Very squeaky floors. Synthetic material bedsheets which were balled up and not comfortable. Needs cotton replacement? Food residue on many plates/glasses/cutlery from dishwasher. Some dishes not properly cleaned still sticky with oil.

L’emplacement est très bien.

Odeur désagréable et persistante sur 3 jours dans la salle d’eau. Chauffe-eau qui fait des bruits bizarres et très forts par moment. La rénovation n’est pas très qualitative c’est dommage. Le parquet flottant craque à chaque pas. Pas de torchon pour la vaisselle, poubelle de la salle de bain toute piquée.
