Just perfect

The Annex was spotlessly clean, it was warm and cosy and the beds were very comfortable. Couldn’t fault it.

Lovely stay and excellent hospitality

Having stayed in a number of Hotels / Pubs etc in the area over the last year, this was my first B&B - The room was very spacious, with a modern bathroom and the breakfast was easily as good if not better than anywhere I have stayed around Saffron Walden.

No dislikes of any note apart from maybe a lack of signage to know which was the correct house - the address on Booking.com just gives a postcode and street name.

Warm welcome and a perfect getaway home from home.

Set in the garden, separate from the house. Very clean and tidy. Lots of space, shower was great, wide selection of teas available and coffee. Was given a bottle of milk not long life containers. Host was very friendly and breakfast was first class.

Lovely place with a very homely feel about it, beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds. Great shower and very tasty breakfast. Tea, coffee, bisuits, milk and water all provided, which we very much appreciated. We would be happy to stay again.

Wonderfully warm welcoming relaxing break

Beautifully well designed annexe felt very private and separate from the main house. We felt very cared for and had a lovely vegan breakfast which Diane went out and especially bought vegan sausages to cater for us. Can’t recommend it enough plus the early check in time made for a more relaxing stay.

Lovely, spacious room in a convenient location. High quality furnishings, duvets and pillows etc, very clean and comfortable. Diane was an attentive host, communicating before my arrival and providing clear guidance on check out, property details and general info.

Great place to stay

The room was warm, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities that you would want. The host was very friendly and the breakfast was superb. It was a great place to stay for a couple of nights whilst attending a wedding at Leez Priory.

Perfection, stress free and luxurious !

This is the 4th time we have stayed here and its consistently worth a 5 star rating. Diane is warm and friendly and will provide advice and tips relating to your visit without being intrusive. The accommodation is exceptionally well equipped , comfortable, spacious and luxurious. I am gluten free and breakfast here is an absolute dream. No worries about contamination or the risk of eating something containing gluten. The room is quiet and the bedding is exceptionally comfortable. We visited the local pub and even the patrons commented on how perfect Motts Cottage is and how Diane's breakfasts are infamous . This is a highly recommended venue and without a doubt we will return.

Having to check out and Dianes excellent tips on where to shop. Her advice was spot on and my car was extra extra laden by the time we left the country.

The annexe is spacious and comfortable and has its own little private area in the garden to sit and soak up the quiet, peaceful surroundings. Diane is an excellent host, so warm, welcoming and friendly. Her breakfasts are amazing; great variety and plentiful that will keep you going for the day!

It is a joy to stay at.

The whitest sheets, comfy bed. Privacy, you name it. Wish we had stayed longer. For the sake of a few miles from the airport and the massed produced hotel rooms. Do yourself a favour a chill out at this Bed and Breakfast. What a breakfast. Bonus to, is a pub up the road The White Hart, that does the best home fired pizza.

The annexe was set in a beautiful garden and was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. Our host Diane,was very welcoming and provided milk- water- orange juice in the room fridge and tea making facilities. There was a lovely private patio area to relax in and our cooked breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this property and will definitely use again.

Second time i have been and couldn’t wait to return. Beautiful little property, giving easy access to the motorway for onward trip to Scotland, really peaceful. Attention to detail inside the property in the bed linen, quality towels, fridge and milk and biscuits to make you feel at home. It is a hidden gem and well worth a visit, even to just to sit in the beautiful gardens and enjoy a glass of something, weather permitting. Without doubt thee best breakfast i have ever had in the morning, i kid you not. The quality of the produce and the warm and friendly host. Treat yourself, you wont be disappointed.

The perfect B&B!

The Annex was a perfect location to get to our event 10 minutes away. It was lovely to have our own front door for a B&B. We only stayed one night but you could easily stay longer as the room was spacious and had every thing we needed. Free Wi-Fi, TV, a large quiet fridge, Kettle for beverages, a lovely shower room with plenty of towels and shower and hand soap. The delicious cooked breakfast was in the main house. Altogether a little gem.

To be honest there was nothing we didn’t like. Diane had put a lot of thought into what was needed and it showed.

Delightful hospitality in this attractive Essex village complete with unspoilt rural pub.

Very spacious well decorated room in beautiful garden annexe. Large super comfortable bed and additional single bed. Breakfast was delicious. Cooked to order by Diane on the Aga. Locally produced bacon and sausages. A great start to the day and a seven hour drive home

I couldn't have wanted a better place to stay. The only slight problem I had was altering the booking which I did eventually manage to do.

Our stay was great. The hosts were really friendly & helpful. The annexe/apartment where we stayed was cosy, comfortable, well equipped and had everything we needed. We had a good nights sleep and the breakfast was delicious & plentiful.

Warm and welcoming hosts! Beautiful annexe in a lovely garden setting with an outdoor seating area. Large room with a very comfortable bed. Lots of little extras which made it a fantastic 2 day stay. A delicious breakfast in the morning in the main house accessed through a lovely country garden. Highly recommend a visit.
