About this farm stay rental
Our home sits right next to Grace Ranch and is great for a cozy getaway to the country! It boasts an extra large front porch, a great open floor plan with plenty of room to gather, 4 bedrooms, and a super fun tree house for the kids to play in. Sit on the front porch and drink your morning coffee as you take in the country views as well as getting to see the horses, cows, and goats that may pass by. Other perks are that we are less than 10 minutes to town and have some of the most beautiful sunsets!! For added fun contact Grace Ranch, at graceranch.net, and book a ranch ride. All bookings with Grace Ranch are made separately and are subject to availability. Make sure to book at least a week in advance.
Guests should be aware that there is a small staircase that has to be taken to get in and out of the house. Also, to be noted is that when we put spray foam insulation under the house it caused the floor to look wavy in some parts of the master bedroom and living room. The floor is completely solid, but it could be a nuisance if you use a walker or wheelchair.

We absolutely loved our stay. We went down for our daughter’s wedding. They allowed us to cook all the food we needed to for our daughter’s wedding that was held at different location and there was no room for us to do at the wedding location. Loved the fact that they didn’t charge per person after so many like other places. The ad mentioned the floor being a little off bc of the spray foam. I will say that this didn’t bother me at all. The house was so comfortable and temp didn’t vary much from thermostat because it was spray foamed. Loved seeing all the horses and animals. My son and daughter walked right up and pet them. It was so relaxing to sit on the porch. We played some washers. And had a blast. We loved it so much that we said we will go back. Even if we are gonna go to the beach, we will stay and drive rather than stay at the beach.

Traveling with a lot of people can be difficult. This was the easiest part of our trip and my grand babies loved the front porch and toys in the house. Perfect all around! Thank you!

Group of us doing the local Texas River Marathon canoe race. This place is located in the middle of where we wanted to paddle. Four bedrooms with 1 bath took a little shuffling with 7 folks getting ready in the morning. Daughter works with horses at a boarding ranch at home. So she was a happy girl here. Nice and quite with plenty of room.

It pains me to have to give a review that is less than 5 stars, but I feel that it is necessary for this rental. I have stayed with my family in many rental properties over the years, and this just was not a 5-star experience. First, this listing leaves out the fact that this farmhouse is more like a double wide home that sits on blocks. When you drive up, there’s no driveway; you literally just pull up on grass to the porch. We arrived at our rental around 5:30pm (check-in time was anytime after 3pm). We went inside and the place had not been cleaned (dirty laundry in piles on the floor, etc). We called the owners and they quickly put us up in a hotel for the night and reimbursed us for one night’s stay and the cleaning fee. We greatly appreciated this and the only reason this rental gets 3 stars instead of 2 is because the owners were so kind. They had someone clean the property so we could return the next afternoon. Upon returning, it was clean enough, but it was not stellar. Much of the house just felt like things were “thrown around”. The toys were all missing pieces and thrown about. The game closet was a mess, boxes undone, pieces everywhere. Property binder stated you had to use distilled water in Keurig and noted they supplied distilled water in the cabinet, but none was there—we never used the Keurig due to this. The Wi-Fi network/password given on their listing didn’t work, so we had to contact the owners to get this worked out. The kitchen and bathroom had funky smells. There was only one bathroom, which we knew when we rented this property. However, this property clearly had a 2nd bathroom off the master bedroom that was just locked—not sure if it’s broken or just used for storage, but this feels a little misleading and frustrating as a renter. The rug in the master bedroom was stained. There were visible dips in the floors; it felt like you’d fall through when walking across the floor. The horses did roam around which was fun, but that did mean a lot of poop, which made the playhouse really inconvenient to use, unfortunately. To top it all off, when we had to strip all our bedding for check out, the mattress pad cover on our bed was stained (not by us). This place needs cleaned thoroughly, bedding and rugs need replaced, the floors and 2nd bathroom need repaired, and overall, the listing needs to be updated to show an honest picture of this house from the outside. Nice owners!! However, an overall disappointing experience for us.
