Lovely stay. The cottage, Ballater and surrounding area made a great place for an interesting holiday.

Good location. Clean and comfortable. Two good-sized bedrooms and plenty of stylishly furnished living space. We had great weather and enjoyed sitting out in the garden but can imagine Gairnlea as a cosy winter retreat.

Slimline dishwasher - shame kitchen hadn’t been configured to take a full sized version.

Great house and garden walking distance to Ballater and all the walking paths .

We didnt see how Sykes cottages improved our stay- we would have preferred to book direct on booking. com as most cottages / accommodation and not through an unconnected third party who insisted on full payment 6 months before but with whom we had no contact. Host very helpful

Perfect place to stay if you’re looking to experience what Scotland has to offer.

Fantastic location, the house was beautifully decorated with a Scottish theme throughout. Clean and tidy with the most comfortable beds. Loved the 2 separate areas for relaxing ( living room with log burning fire for cold winter evenings and the dinning room for meals and relaxation) Excellent storage for snowboards and bikes which highlights the benefit of the location for exploring the outdoors. So much to do and visit making this house the perfect based.

Total relaxation

Beautiful presented house very clean and comfortable. Nice private garden to relax in, positioned near the village centre. Quaint village with nice shops ideally situated for visiting Braemar Banchory etc.

A wonderful stay in a cosy, country cottage - perfect!

Decor was lovely. A very comfortable and relaxing stay. Everything was pristine and clean. The owners had done a first class job in providing lovely accommodation

Not much needed to improve this lovely cottage but if I was to mention anything it would be : A nespresso coffee machine Mattress toppers as the beds were quite firm A lamp in the dining room to make it a little cosier in the evening.

Accomodation was of high quality and very clean on arrival. Communication with hosts was very good and key collection was easy. Lovely garden also. Convenient location for lots of activities.

Great location, spotlessly clean and very well kept! Everything you could ask for when on holiday.

One very small thing - we all found the beds very hard and we are all used to hard beds at home. A memory foam topper would be a good option. Other than that perfect.

Le partage du jardin et de l’accès avec le cottage à côté. Le froid dans la maison. Pas de chauffage mis avant notre arrivée, nous avons mis 3 jours à la réchauffer. Message envoyé à l’agence et nous n’avons jamais eu de retour. Exigence du départ. Nous avons écourté notre séjour.

Ein Komforthaus zum Entspannen.

Eine in fast jeglicher Hinsicht hervorragende Unterkunft: eine sehr gute Lage, nur 3 min zu Fuß vom Zentrum, Parkplätze auf dem Grundstück, eine ruhige, angenehme Umgebung, ein großer, gepflegter Garten mit guten Gartenmöbeln, eine hochwertige, moderne und komfortable Ausstattung des Hauses, große, bequeme Betten, genügend Schrankplatz, zwei sehr gute Badezimmer und zwei geräumige Zimmer (Esszimmer und Wohnzimmer mit Kamin).

Das einzige, wirklich sehr kleine Manko war die Ausstattung der Küche, wenn man für mehrere Personen kochen möchte: es gab kein Backblech für den Ofen, keine große Schüssel, keine große Auflaufform, keinen Suppentopf. Dafür gab es einen Tiefkühlschrank, was wir sehr begrüßt haben.
