A wonderful stay: best night sleep!

A Wonderful Stay: Best Night’s Sleep I had such a restful stay…the peaceful surroundings, blackout curtains and super comfy bed gave me the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. The room was spacious and thoughtfully prepared, with delicious welcome snacks and a fantastic variety of hot drinks…such a lovely touch. The bathroom was spotless, with a powerful shower and clean, fluffy towels - just what I needed after a long day of travel. Ian gave me a warm and friendly welcome (thank you!). I didn’t get to meet Alun this time, but I’ll definitely be back. I work in the area regularly, and this will now be my go-to place to stay whenever it’s available. The location is perfect…just a few steps from cosy pubs, lovely cafés, gift shops, and really welcoming local businesses. Everything you need is right on the doorstep. There’s ample parking nearby too. I was lucky enough to park right outside - much appreciated as the rain greeted me on arrival! Highly recommend.

Shortcake fresh milk,coffee and tea were most welcome and Ian's assistance with luggage was most welcome. Really nice shower and spacious room we're appreciated.

Besides the weather and steepness of stairs the location is a little harder to find but the sat nav number was important .in locating

A very comfortable stay in a beautiful room

Quiet location in a pretty side street, a minute's walk from the town centre. Everything in the room was immaculately clean. Gorgeous crisp cotton sheets, huge fluffy towels and a bathrobe. Plenty of storage space, nice sitting area in window, fantastic choice of teabags, coffee machine and good quality Welsh snacks. We were allowed to check out slightly later so we had a great breakfast in TH Roberts which opened at 9am (Sospan Fach is the other option nearby and opens at 8am).

The bathroom was lovely but the water pressure in the shower was on the low side. A shelf to put toiletries on in the bathroom would be handy.

Lovely, well appointed room with en suite bathroom and superb attention to detail.

The room was excellent, it was spacious and well appointed with a comfortable double bed, TV, and two comfy chairs. There was lots of wardrobe space and some nice touches, such as a fridge with milk, and complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits/crisps. The en-suite was very nice with a great shower and lovely tiles, all clean with nice towels and wash products. There was great attention to detail, hard to fault anything, would highly recommend.

Squeaky floor boards (which is expected in a property of this age) and could occasionally hear the person next door closing doors but it wasn’t a big issue and didn’t affect our stay.

Huge room, clean, perfect stay!

Clean, quiet, convenient for transport links (Mach loop particularly). Local town excellent. Hosts lovely. Catered to our vegan diet perfectly, ample towels! Just a great place to stay

Lovely little place just avoid if you have a wide car and are allergic to dogs!

The host was very welcoming and the room had a very informative booklet about the local area etc which had taken time to collate. The room we were in was lovely completely to our taste as was the bathroom. Never had such clean, white, bright bed linen and towels. The area in which it is in is residential as expected but literally 2 min walk and you have shops and restaurants etc. We highly recommend the Indian! Perfect location for visiting the Mach Loop, the waterfalls etc.

Whilst it was mentioned in the description that the parking was limited, people said they didnt have an issue however we did and with an expensive car it was a little unnerving to have to park away from the property. Also it might be worth mentioning the narrow lanes for people visiting and not knowing the area as it was near on impossible at some points to get our car through. Also, it may be worth noting there is evidently a dog within the property due to the smell. My partner is highly allergic to dogs so we made sure we spent little time in the property as it played havoc with him. .

Beautiful house in a central location and easy to find. The quality of my room and the attention to detail was both exemplary and exceptional. Ian is a great host too!

There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property itself. The only reason I have rated this 9/10 rather than 10/10 is free parking adjacent to or close to the property is a bit limited.

Very pleasant stay in luxurious and peaceful room

Room was spacious and well catered, with everything we needed for a short break. Host was very happy to facilitate requests and thus made the room a lovely place to stay. Bed was comfortable and spacious, and the bathroom was luxurious. Nice view out of the windows and a modern TV in a corner of the room. Incredibly good value for money!

I realise this isn't the host's fault, but it was a bit tricky finding somewhere to park. This was fine for us as a couple in our 20s, but it might have been a bit difficult to walk the 200m or so to the residence had we been with someone elderly or less able to walk.

Go there!

It was a spacious, peaceful room with a lovely seating area looking out over rooftops. The bed was large and comfortable with fabulous sheets. The hosts had left generous amounts of tea, coffee, cocoa, etc...and treats! The shower was great and fantastic towels...huge! Plus bathrobes. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Nothing...although some shelving for toiletries in the bathroom and larger mugs would have been appreciated.

Lovely welcome, Gwynedd Room was immaculate, Shower/Bathroom immaculate, Tea making facilities, Nespresso Coffee Machine, Crisp White Towels & Flannels, Comfy Double Bed, Crisps & Shortbread a fab touch and very welcome afta a long journey. Parking limited but we still managed to. Would definitely stay again

The Townhouse was located in a quiet area close to restaurants, bars and attractions. The room was exquisitely appointed and very comfortable. We would have loved to stay longer. A beautiful town!

Great place to stay.

We had a really pleasant two night stay in the Salop room, which was spacious, quiet and very clean . The bed was comfy and the ensuite was super clean. It was a pleasant surprise to to be offered a choice of pillows and robes were left for our use. We were kindly left many snacks and choices of teas and coffee along with water left in the fridge. Thank you, they were put to good use on our walks! Information left in the room was very useful from info on places to eat in Dolgellau to places of interest and detailed notes on a variety of local walks. There was no breakfast available but that was not a problem as there are plenty of places in Dolgellau to eat. We’d happily return if looking to stay in Dolgellau again. Diolch yn fawr.

Excellent

We had the Salop room which was a lovely size, with a very comfortable bed. It was also quiet and peaceful. The bathroom was great and Ian and Alun had provided lovely white fluffy towels and dressing gowns, great after a days cycling. We will come back.

Lovely stay, second time here -- will definitely stay again if I need a place in Dolgellau.

Cosy, clean, spacious room with nice big TV, good lighting controlled by a remote, heating controlled easily, kettle with coffee and biscuits, nice shower, lots of lovely towels, comfy bed. Also really central location in town.

Beautiful room, the fridge in the room was really useful. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, having gluten and dairy free treats was lovely. Will definitely be back!

Parking isn’t great, but nothing that can be solved, there is plenty of parking in town, with most needs easily met within walking distance.

Good overall but a few irritating things.

The location was very good, peaceful but close to town. The room was comfortable, I loved the towelling robes and having a seating area. Spacious room and fresh milk for tea is much nicer.

Some kind of in-room breakfast would be appreciated e.g. instant porridge, fresh fruit, pastry. Kettle looks nice but too heavy, bulky. Use teapot at home every day but too much bother here. Put extra tea bags in hall? More places to put stuff in the bathroom. Need a full length mirror and there's insufficient light to dry your hair.
