Kloveniers Studio

We were extremely happy with our stay. The apartment is located right in the heart of Amsterdam, very close to the canals, which made the location absolutely perfect for exploring the city on foot. The apartment is set in a beautiful old courtyard, full of character and very typical of Amsterdam. You really feel the authentic atmosphere of the city. Although the building itself is historic, the apartment has been completely renovated inside, so everything feels modern, comfortable, and very well maintained. Despite the cold weather outside, the apartment was always warm and cozy. The heating worked perfectly, and we never felt cold at all. The kitchen and the apartment in general were fully equipped with everything we needed, which made the stay very comfortable. Communication with the host was excellent from the very beginning. It was my first time in Amsterdam, and I didn’t know the city at all, but he was incredibly helpful, gave us clear instructions, and made the check-in process very easy. Everything went smoothly. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Spoiler: to get into the unit you must climb very steep “ship like” steps. I am 82 and had no problem. The bed is really comfortable, the apartment is large and set back from the noise of the street, and it is really, really close to all the sites in Amsterdam. This would be my first choice for Amsterdam.

Steep steps

Great location, and a very spacious apartment with a lot of potential. With some fresh paint, fixing all the little broken things and adding some essentials to the kitchen this space could be something special. The courtyard was cute, the crazy stairs/ladder to get into the space was cool, and all the neighborhood cats were too sweet.

The shower drain didn’t work - water filled the shower pan - and when you run the dishwasher all of the gross dishwasher water comes up through the shower. Things felt tired - linens were thin and sparse, lamp was broken, microwave was broken, the kitchen wasn’t set up to cook or clean. Walls were very dirty.
