Cornwallis House is ideally located a short distance from the city centre. We took advantage of decent weather to walk along the River Thames into the centre, watching all the college rowing teams on the water. The house itself is well appointed and very comfortable, with an enclosed garden, which was fantastic for our dog! The kitchen is well equipped to be able to self-cater sufficiently and beds are comfortable. All in all, a great place to stay near the centre of Oxford.

The location was good in a quite neighborhood

Location
1) The bathroom downstairs from the upstairs bedrooms, but it was fine once we got the hang of it. 2)The stairs are very steep and a bit treacherous for older people. 3) Need to mark detergents and give better instructions for the washing machine. (The “turn on” button is the center button of the design with no details to push IT before you hit the “start” button. Very confusing, but the owner showed up to assist, so that was nice. )

Easy check in, has close access to busses to get into the city centre. Very clean house situated in a quiet area. Nick was responsive to queries and it was a lovely stay. There was 3 bedrooms on the first floor and a living room with separate kitchen and dining area on the ground floor. 1 toilet with a bathtub as well as a shower.
Everything was good.

Nice clean house in a good location, buses to and from the city centre were excellent, even on Sunday. Good value for money given that Oxford is so expensive.
Everything was fine.

The house is in a great location, walking distance (20 mins stroll) to the city but away from the hustle and bustle.
The bedrooms were a great size, with everything you would need. However, dusting, especially the blinds and bedframes, could be a focus for the cleaner.
The kitchen diner was a lovely bright space, with access to the rear patio and had some basic essentials. The cooker/grill, however, needs to be checked as it wasn't in full working order.
The bathroom was a great size, with a lovely large bath and large shower cubicle, again with some basic essentials.
The bus route outside was great, which we used on our first day to return from the city centre.
The host was wonderful and really accommodating to my questions and requests, nothing was too much trouble. A really wonderful place to stay.

A clean, modern property with easy access to central Oxford.
The host, Nick, was extremely communicative and helped us with all our enquiries in a friendly efficient manner. The property is fully equipped with all mod cons and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We bought our two small dogs with us and nearby is lovely Florence Park which they loved a good runabout in. There is a good bus service into the centre of Oxford (15 minutes away) We thoroughly recommend this property for a break in Oxford. Such a beautiful city.

Very comfortable pleasant accommodation with 40-minute walk beside the Thames, into Oxford, stunning.
Not related to the accomodation, but for drivers unfamiliar with UK driving rules beware the V bus lane restriction right by the home. Has all day cameras, 70 Pounds each careless trip>

The house is spacious and has a big garden in a quiet neighborhood.
We had a bad experience staying at this house. Our stay in Cornwallis house was not as advertised. Four things were not as we had expected, given the Booking.com description.
First off, we had booked the house months before coming to Oxford and had asked for a baby cot. When we arrived, it was absent and we had to chase the owners to bring it. The owners suggested the baby could sleep in one of the available beds, which would have been a safety hazard. They had confirmed the cot would be there on our arrival and it was annoying to show up and then not have it be there after a long trip, even though the owners had ample time to prepare.
Second, the listing on Booking.com states that the house has a dishwasher. However, when we tried to run it on the first night it appeared to be broken. We immediately informed the owners but they did not respond to our emails and requests to have it fixed. Given we were staying with a baby, a dishwasher was key to our needs and played a role in renting your house--not having it was more than an inconvenience, it presented a problem for the hygiene standards for bottle cleaning. It was never fixed nor did the owners respond to our emails.
Third, there were a lot of ants and other bugs in the kitchen area and that was an inconvenience. The owners mentioned this was the result of the previous renters keeping food on the counter but that left us to deal with the situation nonetheless.
Fourth, the house is quite far from the city centre and the buses in Oxford are not as regular as the schedule suggests. This made coming and going to Oxford quite stressful. This obviously is not the fault of the owners but something to consider nonetheless if you're thinking about staying at Cornwallis house.
All and all, we understand that sometimes things are not exactly as advertised but given the steep price of the house per night (225 euros) these various issues together seem sufficient a reason to leave this negative review.

Good size property. Small outdoor area and good size bedrooms
Down stairs bathroom.
Driving to the property we were stuck the wrong side of a bus only " bump" unable to work out how to get to the property we were left to go through it . A situation which could have been avoided if the owner had put some directions in with the key lock detsils

Location and kitchen facilities
Unfortunately there were ants in the kitchen. We made sure no food was left out but there were some in the cupboards too. We couldn’t find the “source”/ where they were coming from. Also - if there was some cleaning fluids left it would have been easier to clean kitchen surfaces down (especially after squashing ants). But it was not a major problem and did not spoil our stay. The bins had not been emptied - said in the info that the neighbours put them out? But looks like not for a while - we would have done so if we’d realised.

Lovely house in a great quiet neighbourhood. We walked along the river into town which was a lovely 40 min walk. The kitchen is really well equipped. Love the gas cooker & dining space.
The bathroom is downstairs which was tough going for night time needs! Other than that everything was great.
