Everything about The awaiting Room.
The location was great, and having the trains go by every now and then was lovely.
As a disabled person having a down stairs toilet would be the cream on top.

This was the second time we'd stayed in the place. We liked it so much the first time, three years ago, that we decided to make a return visit. We were not disappointed. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and well managed. When we arrived we found a generous selection of food to keep us going for a few days (bread, milk, cheese, eggs, potato crisps). If you like trains, it is wonderful as you are right next to the platform. There is plenty of parking space. There is also lots of information about things to do, places to eat and drink, walks in the area and so on. We were sorry to leave and could happily return for a third visit.

We loved EVERYTHING! The cottages was absolutely beautiful and immaculate. We were welcomed with a lovely hamper containing fresh bread, butter, milk and fancy biscuits. The cottage has everything you could need and more, including a fully equity kitchen, tea, coffee, sugar, soap, dishwasher tablets and wash capsules. Every last detail has been thought about! The TV is a smart tv so things such as Netflix, iPlayer & Amazon prime can be watched! The beds are very comfortable and have good quality bed linen & fluffy towels!
We honestly can’t fault a single thing about our stay and would definitely return & recommend!
You are very close to the active train line, and they can be quite loud in the mornings but it didn’t bother us.
Nothing - we didn’t find a single fault!

Lovely quirky property. Everything you need for a self catering stay. Clean and comfortable. The trains aren’t troublesome and don’t run through the night. Great communication with owner without being intrusive and a generous welcome basket too!
Nothing we didn’t like.

Unusual location in a stunning area. Every facility provided with clear instructions for every eventuality.
Would have helped to have leaving instructions in the book.
Nice thing would be a coffee table in the sitting room.

Loved the place & was really well looked after. It's cool what they have done with the station & whilst trains do run by, there aren't that many & it really wouldn't put me off staying again

It's a great little refurbed station property. Very well-equipped and high standard self-catering and a rural location. The property was exceptionally clean and great comms with the hosts. Lovely welcome food basket of local produce, which was a really nice touch. The kitchen was really well equipped, which is always a relief in self-catering.
Apart from an occasional train, it's in a very quiet rural spot with views over fields.
This is of course by a railway line, which we expected. Trains didn't run through the night and quieter on Sundays, but Monday morning was a 6:30 wake up!
The living room is ok for a couple but probably quite small for more than two people.

Lovely location, peaceful although trains coming past obviously! Lovely surroundings, with quiet roads for dog walking. Would definitely return. Lovely welcome hamper left for us. Pillows a bit too hard for me but still managed to sleep very well so they couldn’t have been that bad! Photos don’t do the place justice. You won’t be disappointed if you book.
Better fitting stair gate needed as dog kept trying to lift it up to attempt his upstairs investigating. Had to put a chair in-front of it to try and stop him.

The location is wonderful if you like trains as it a former railway station on an active line. The noise from passing trains is hardly disturbing and in any case the trains do not run during the night. The place is spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
There was nothing we didn't like. Everything was excellent. Just bear in mind that you will need your own transport.

We were left a Welcome Tray of milk, 'posh' biscuits and bread and lovely local butter. Much appreciated.
Directions were 'spot on', so no problems finding The Waiting Room. The whole place was incredibly clean.
It would have been nice to have an allocated picnic bench on the platform side, but certainly not a deal breaker.
Husband is a railway lover and we felt a little like we had to sneak a look at the trains.

Beautifully appointed accommodation in a quirky setting. Welcome pack a nice touch and other additional kitchen essentials useful. Friendly hosts. Added bonus of trains running by.
Everything was great.

Quirky property.
Spotlessly clean.
Lovely location.
Everything we required.
Could have done with a comfier chair for the fourth person but wasn’t a massive problem.

Really homely feel. Felt spacious and comfortable. Loved welcome gift and having our own Christmas tree was a lovely addition as well as the outside Christmas lights.
Maybe a spare toilet roll and a dressing table instead of a chest of drawers but that certainly wouldn't stop me staying again.

Warm, comfortable & cosy - nothing like a railway waiting room, at all! Scrupulously clean and very well maintained. Provision of a welcome pack of goodies was a lovely surprise.
Nothing.

Beautiful location, very picturesque. Facilities were modern yet tailored to the history of the station. Location is relatively remote, however there is loads of restaurants, pub and towns only a short drive away. The owners are extremely accommodating and excellent at communicating, should you need anything. Would definitely stay again

It was like been in heaven for us . Especially my husband who is a railway enthusiast. We even took our locomotives but in smaller scale.
Because we were visiting an event a broomyhill which is a miniature railway.
The family hosts are fantastic and super friendly, the waiting room is fitted out to a high standard.
We can’t wait to go back again, only wish it was ours

The fact it was a station waiting room was the icing on the cake.
Thank you Chris, Ed and families. Just everything we needed, no need to bring essentials.
Very safe place.
Also thank you for the complimentary tray of goodies.
Hope to see you again.
