Swaledale Cottage - Barley Green Mill

Very well presented cottage, simple but tasteful decor. Spotless

Could do with the house name on the front - making sure we had definitely got the right property took a few minutes when we arrived

The cottage was in a beautiful quiet location, we had everything we needed for a relaxing break. There were some beautiful local walks. Parking great. Everything we needed and more for a lovely stay was supplied.

Could have done with a small freezer for Ice creams as the weather was very hot, but everything else was spot on.

Cottage was beautiful, location fabulous, comfortable, warm and clean very well presented.

The customer service I received at my time in Swaledale cottage was imperetent, ill-mannered and not what I expected when paying for time somewhere recommend by booking.com. On arrival I wasn't given the key code and had to wait for someone to let me in with no information given. After approaching the cottage next door the lady was rude and didn't help at all; as if I was an inconvenience. On Thursday morning the smoke alarm went off, which obvs disrupted my peaceful time at the property but I was aware faults could happen. After texting Poppy (who I was told sorts everything out) I was given useless info and told that by at least 5PM (12 hours later) someone will be there to fix it. I then waited till 7.45pm having received no text or updates and had to leave due to the smoke alarms noise being constant. Clearly not what you expect when visiting somewhere. I had to leave and whilst mentioning to poppy i was again given no updates or apology for the matter BUT greeted with an abusive phone call explaining that herself is too busy with her children and work life to manage things that go wrong with the property. The language and service was appalling and frankly disgusting from a paying customer. I asked for a refund for the 1 night I was unable to even stay in the property and that again was greeted with disgust by Poppy.

We liked the location, nice comfortable bed, good shower, plenty of storage, nice crockery & cutlery. Cottage was nice and warm.

We thought the sofa was a little tired, there was interference on TV sound, trays in oven were dirty, can opener needs replacing.
