Le Rousseau

The location of the apartment is exceptional. The building is very old and the apartment is amazing with fantastic views from both sides. We felt so lucky to be able to stay in such a historic place. Despite the age of the building, the apartment had modern aspects - the kitchen and bathroom had been updated and were very modern. It had everything needed to make it a great stay, including a cupboard with plenty of kitchen food/items to use such as coffee, olive oil, herbs, dishwasher tabs etc. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept so well, there was plenty of towels too. There was no noise from the street when the double-glazed windows were closed at night. As there are no restaurants or places open on the street below, the only sounds came from bars two streets away and it really wasn't a problem. You would never have air-conditioning units in a beautiful building such as this, instead there were powerful fans in all the rooms which cooled us down. The view from the balcony is incredible - and to sit out amongst the plants growing there was so beautiful. If you are looking for a holiday in a historic building in a beautiful part of the old town with views of the castle, mountains and river - this is perfect. Communication with the host/company was really good.

I was very wary of paying a €500 deposit as I haven't done this on Booking.com before. But it was a smooth process and was credited to our account within seven working days, as explained by my bank.

It is in excellent location. Close to everything on foot and has an amazing view.

The step over the bath into the shower may be problematic for some people. We also had difficulty with the main door key, but managed to work it out after a few days.

Das Appartement ist in einem alten Haus inmitten von Annecy. Es ist gut ausgestattet, ist gemütlich und hat einen gewissen Charme, auch die Betten waren gut. Die Fenster schliessen gut, somit konnten wir ruhig schlafen.

Ich hatte erwartet dass die Wohnung etwas geschützter sei vor den Touristenströmen die im August die Stadt überfluten. Die ist nicht der Fall. Auf beiden Seiten sind Restaurants und viele Touristen die nachts auch gerne lange feiern. Früh morgens werden die Restaurants dann beliefert was man auch gut hört. Wenn wir schlafen wollten mussten wir die Fenster schliessen, was bei hohen sommerlichen Temperaturen unangenehm war. Die Wohnung hat einige (hohe) Stufen im Bad und Klo was für uns kein Problem war aber für andere Gäste problematisch werden könnte.

Location was gorgeous

Not great quality fittings or furniture all very old and worn. There were bugs in the couch. The third bedroom was a cupboard off of the living room. The beds were hard and small for tall people. A cupboard door fell off and it wasn’t fixed during our stay despite us reporting it to the agent.
