We stayed in the King Luxury Suite, third floor, and it was charming; however, the bathroom wasn’t functional as it was very small, no surface area for getting ready, and had an angular ceiling where I bumped my head multiple times forcing me to get ready outside of the bathroom which made it difficult.

Lovely stay for a special occasion

It was such a treat to stay at such a lovely house. We visited for my husband’s birthday and booked a room in the top floor. The staff was attentive, kind and generous. We loved sitting outside and enjoying the gardens. Breakfast was fantastic!

Gorgeous renovated period home. Very comfortable.

I found it overpriced. The room was lovely but the bathroom was pokey and uncomfortable as it was in the roof line. The water pressure in the shower was very poor. My last gripe was with the breakfast service - whilst the food was very good, Linda (cook) was very keen to convey her political leanings to us which I did not appreciate. First thing in the morning I am not interested in how she refuses to listen to Taylor swift or watch a Tom hanks film because they made there political views known! I recommend Linda keep certain topics off limits and recognise that some guests may just like a quiet breakfast.

Disappointing!

We stayed at The George last year, a few months after it opened and we were so pleased with the excellence in every way. After getting our tickets for Napa Valley Jazz Festival in August, 2022, we booked right after in early fall to stay at the hotel again. See below for what went wrong! Breakfast is still good!

I asked for the same room 203, because it was a terrific room; nice and open with a chair right by the window. However, when we reached the hotel we were assigned 302. First, we are 76 and 80 and were placed on the third floor, with steep stairs. Thank GOD we're in okay shape! Second the bed was a double and the mattress was way too soft and way too small. Third, my husband is tall and he had to watch his head because that room has the weird slanted ceilings. Fourth, with the middle room on the third floor you can hear all the sounds coming from everywhere in the house. Fifth, make sure someone share where the lights are in the halls because with the no key system you have set up, without a light you cant see nothing! We generally stay at very nice places, and at $1600 for 3 nights at The George, I expect more! I wasn't happy with our accommodations this time at all!

The decor is very pretty and the sheets were very soft

The bathrooms are VERY tiny. We were in room 303 and while the room was spacious the bathroom was extremely tiny with only a pedistal sink and no place to put anything. the ceiling in the bathroom was angled and low and very tight especially for my husband who is 6”2”. There is no help with luggage or an elevator so we have to lug our luggage up to the 3rd floor. The TV has a lock on the sound so you cannot hear the TV at all with all the other noises going on like bathroom vent etc. I was unimpressed with snacks they sat out in the afternoon. They only put out one bottle of champagne and a small bowl of nuts and chocolate covered nuts. I have stayed at numerous B&Bs and they always have an over abundance of snacks for Happy Hour and plenty of drinks. There is a community little fridge in the dining area that has very minimal sodas and water.

Unique experiences living in the historical building

Location is in the heart of Napa, connivence to anywhere by car. Breakfast is amazingly good. Quality interior and decoration.

It will be better to tell us about the building without elevator before we made the booking. We stayed in third floor and had to carry three luggage to the third floor without help. The room rate is a bit pricy.

An exceptionally beautiful charming place to stay!

This is a beautiful BnB, an old Victorian that has been restored with every detail of comfort and hosting guest into account. The rooms are large, the decoration is beautiful and tasteful. There are just 9 rooms, so it feels like family coming together in the mornings for breakfast. The parking is free. The staff is friendly and cheerful. A walk into town is 10 minutes, so its close to restaurants and shopping.

Chic b&b but pick your room wisely

The common areas which are free for all to use, decor, cleanliness, ease of check in/out. Friendly owner too.

We wish the room listings had more details and pics so we knew what kind of room we were selecting. Room 302 is considerably smaller than the rest, and on 3rd floor with narrow staircase and no lift!

the Breakfast was great. The best of continental and much more. The location was a normal neighborhood and that was surprising but beautiful and amazing. I loved the view and the inside. The pictures cannot capture the beauty. Daisy was an amazing help navigating all of our needs. I cannot say enough about her.

I am filing a complaint about an incident with the manager on staff. As we were lounging in our room and napping, she opened the door without knocking. She saw we were in there and just closed the door. She did not apologize nor introduce herself. We had to go downstairs and find her and ask her who she was. We thought she was a guest. It made us very uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. We had to ask her who she was, what was her name and tell her to knock first. She was not contrite, not remorseful at all. She just smiled and said ok. Totally unacceptable. And every night, the smoke alarm would screech at the oddest hours. I think the batteries were low or something, so that was not comfortable either. I think those two things were not deal breakers for others who would like to stay there. They were unfortunate and horrific. We never felt that safety after she opened the door. We all know the staff can come in at anytime, but we also know, THEY ALWAYS KNOCK FIRST! That was very poor form.
