Comfortable and a lovely location

It was old … every floor board creaked and thru the night the whole house creaked

Location was awesome

Light in bathroom above vanity did not work.

The view is spectacular and the location was good and it was an easy walk to town and my relatives who live close by. Management of the house was good. It was clean on arrival with clean linen and we had replacement linen after a week of being there. The laundry is good and all works. The heating is fine as well. I enjoyed the bellbird wake up alarm every morning.

The house is an old lockwood house. It is very old and dated. Every floorboard in the house creaks so if during the night someone gets up to use the loo or something else the whole house creaks and wakes everyone up. When there is a change of temperature the house creaks as well. If there is rain you cannot sleep, the noise on the roof is ridiculous, you might as well sleep in a tent outside. It has three bedrooms upstairs and a sleeping area downstairs. We were upstairs. Our bedroom with a double bed was right next to the lounge with a wall made of chipboard. There was a duvet placed over the chipboard to sound proof the room from the tv on the other side, didn't help at all. A bit of a make shift last minute plan. Our double bed also leaned sideways which was hugely uncomfortable and caused me back pain every morning. The furniture is very old but comfortable. The kitchen is very old and dated. There was not a lot of kitchen utensils eg. salad server or even a salad bowl. Just the basics weren't available. I think we could have had two sets of keys, would have been handy. I think this house needs a major renovation. We paid a lot of money for it not knowing what we were coming to. The photos on booking .com show beautiful views which was my attraction. Silly me I should have found out more about the house. Unacceptable at such a high price.
