What a wonderful ‘pied a terre’ in Chartres. A beautifully presented flat in a historic building, immediately beside a circular medieval tower in the former city walls. The apartment is quiet and centrally located. I commend the pretty little flat ‘Monet’ to all travellers, particularly those interested in historic Chartres.

Fabulous apartment with easy city center access

Communications from the host were easy to follow, and were generally excellent. Location is fantastic right on the edge of the city and has a small grocery store on the door step. Host kindly allowed me to park my motorbike on site which saved me 25€ per day in the local underground carpark and was safe and secure (there isn't room for a car on site unfortunately). Lovely decor and facilities were great. Easy walking distance from the city center - approx 5mins.

Local car park is very expensive at nearly 25€ per day. I parked my motorbike there for 1½hours while I located the property and offloaded my gear and it cost 5.10€. Thankfully the host allowed me to move my bike onto a small patch of grass at the property.

Good

Very clean and comfortable studio apartment. The location was fantastic. Also very quite. Lots of food choices were very close. You can walk everywhere. Plus there is the free shuttle right across the main street.

#) I mentioned many times that I would be taking a taxis to and from the train station. The owner never thought to tell me that I could hop on a free shuttle that has a stop right across the street. I just don't understand why he would not tell me this. #2) Although the apartment is very nice, there are some details that need worked on. First, the info with the wifi code was wrong, so that was a huge hassle. Second, I was happy to see small reading lamps by the bed. I was unhappy to see that neither of them worked. Neither did the clock on the wall. Third, the door is hard to open. #3) When I checked in, the owner told me that the government would not allow you to turn up the heat. Since I had been traveling all over France for over 5 weeks I knew this was not true.. Several nights got in the low 40's (degrees) so I got pretty cold. One heater was set at 19 and the other one you can't turn on at all. But THE WORST was that he has turned the water heater for the shower down so much that you can't even take a hot shower. It wasn't cold but it wasn't hot either. There is no excuse for this for what you are paying. #4) I paid a $40 cleaning fee but was told that I had to take out the trash. But didn't really tell me where to take it. Only that it was 15 meters and easy. I found a place on the street, which I guess was the place, but I think for $40 I should not have to wander around trying to figure out where to take my trash. #5) They could do a lot better with the directions. The blue door on the street, that goes down hill, with the number 4 is not the right door. Go back up to where a small flat part branches off, stay to the right of the fountain, the blue door actually had 2/4 on it. It was very confusing and should have been explained better.

Satisfaite dans l'ensemble, Wifi et télé à revoir

Très bien placé en centre ville, proche des commerces, restaurants et de la cathédrale et autres endroits à visiter. Endroit calme belle vue sur la tour juste à côté. Lit confortable, l'essentiel pour se faire à manger, propre. Pratique la boîte à clés, on peut arriver à l'heure qu'on veut à partir de 15h et le jour du départ avant 11h.

Aucune connexion wifi pendant notre séjour de 3 jours, le routeur a été en défaut, agence Autrimo injoignable par téléphone et ne m'a même pas recontacté malgré le message que je lui ai laissé dès le début du séjour et dès 9h à l'ouverture 😔. Une réponse vite par mail sans nous proposer une solution. On a réussi après plusieurs tentatives à avoir la télé, par contre impossible d'avoir France 2.

Malerisches Appartement in französischer Musterstadt

sehr gute Lage, zentral, ruhig hübsches Zimmer mit Blick auf den alten Turm schönes Bad Küchenzeile

für Autofahrer: Parken in der Nähe der Unterkunft sehr schwierig oder sehr teuer. Aber etwas weiter weg kein Problem.
