Amazing views of Penon de Ifach from numerous parts of the property. The top studio room is very appealing and the balcony up there is a great place for a glass of wine and watch the lights come on at night toward Calpe. Dog friendly which was much appreciated.
Keys! Why so many keys?!?! And collection of the keys is annoyingly far away from the property (a good 10 minute drive so not really in walking distance) We were given no indication as to which key does what. We asked the lady when we collected the keys and were told ‘try’ with shrug of the shoulders. It could be so much easier - Have a digital keypad to access the front gate; a couple of keys in an outdoor lock-box to get in to the property and the rest could be in a lock-box inside the villa. It took us quite a while to get in which wouldn’t have been much fun if you arrived in the dark or with children. No hot water in the upstairs studio. I noticed the boiler wasn’t plugged in but didn’t want to touch it incase it was unplugged for a reason. Very cheap bed in the studio that made a noise every time you moved. Part of the wardrobe in the studio wasn’t usable as it was placed too close to the bed side table. We couldn’t move it due to the location of the air-con. There is a beautiful looking fountain outside… With no water. Lots of broken furniture that is not usable. It feels like it’s just been dumped rather than disposing of. The cushions for the garden furniture were just thrown on a table. Clearly no care for appearance. Which really sums things up….. I hope the owner of the property reads my review as it is a lovely villa. However, I’d suggest a change of management / key holder as they have clearly become complacent. A snagging list and a day would sort most things.

The villa was well proportioned, had a wonderful view across Calpe to the sea and Penyal d'Ilfac and nice gardens with a decent size pool. It was good value for money. The air con was good and the kitchen well equipped. The location was good with no noise disturbance or barking dogs. The waste bins were nearby and taxis to the town were easily booked and not expensive. There were various seating options outside for breakfast and dining and a good size BBQ.
Keys! I don't know why so many keys are provided? No labels indicating which are for the main doors and spent ages trying different ones. Anyway the locks are very stiff and we couldn't get in for 20 minutes. Why not provide just the relevant access keys and remotes for gates with a key cupboard inside for all the other keys? We did not receive or see any villa instructions. I've been to a good number of villas and this was unusual. Nothing to explain the various shutters, locks, safety deposit, cooker and local information. Only a piece of paper with the WiFi code. The outside area is in need of some maintenance - the paving is quite rough in places, the sun loungers and chairs aren't of the best quality and the fencing is a bit ugly. There is some cracking to the tiles in the pool and the pool pump/filter only came on for a short while on the evenings. We removed a dead lizard from the pool (these things happen) but the fact the filtration system wasn't operational most of the time was disappointing. The bedding and mattress protector was ill fitting on at least one of the beds and was extremely annoying having to keep re-fitting. It was a significant distance to the agent's office to collect keys from a key safe that could easy have been at the property entrance. The positives outweigh the negatives however.
